Ton Duc Thang University signed a comprehensive cooperation with Saigontourist

On September 11th, 2020, at Ton Duc Thang University (TDTU), Saigontourist Travel Service Co., Ltd (Saigontourist) and TDTU signed a comprehensive cooperation.

Attending the signing ceremony were Mr. Hoang Huu Loc, Chairman of the Members’ Council; Mr. Nguyen Huu Y Yen, Chief Executive Officer and leaders of several units of Saigontourist.

From TDTU, Dr. Tran Trong Dao, University Representative; Dr. Vo Hoang Duy, Deputy Secretary of the University Party Committee, Director of Center of Enterprise Cooperation and Alumni, together with leaders of faculties including Sports Science, Social Sciences & Humanities, Business Administration, and Social Development Training Center (SDTC) were present during the event.

With more than 45-year history, a human resource of 1,200 staff members and 18 branches in all 3 North-Central-South regions, the potential cooperation between Saigontourist and TDTU is enormous.

Mr. Nguyen Huu Y Yen claimed that this is the first time that their enterprise signed a comprehensive cooperation with a university. Although the cooperation activities of Saigontourist have been deployed with many partners so far, there were only activities with small scale units and by specific programs. As a result, the comprehensive cooperation with TDTU hopes to create more opportunities for both sides.

It is easier for Saigontourist to access TDTU's highly skilled and well-trained workforce. The deployment of applying the University's research results into commercial manufacturing and business development orientation will also be more favorable.

Saigontourist will be ready to receive TDTU students to observe, practice and develop skills. The company will also send high-qualified experts to participate in a number of teaching programs, seminar reports, and exchanging experiences with lecturers and students. In addition, with the high quality and abundant tourism products, Saigontourist will offer special incentives to TDTU lecturers and students, as well as TDTU international exchanging students, experts, scientists, and partners of TDTU.

Speaking at the ceremony, Dr. Tran Trong Dao, University Representative asserted that TDTU is a young university, but has a fast growth rate and has accomplished many important achievements. The cooperative relationship with the enterprise community has contributed to the university development so far. TDTU always focuses on developing cooperative programs with authentic nature, bringing specific benefits to students and university.

According to Dr. Tran Trong Dao, the cooperation with Saigontourist is greatly potential. TDTU has undergraduate programs in the same field as Saigontourist such as Tourism and Travel, Tourism and Tourism Management, Sports Business and Event Management, and Hospitality Management. Graduates of these majors will be an additional source of Saigontourist’s workforce.

The University's inbound and outbound cooperation activities will also act as a bridge to bring the enterprises’ products and services to TDTU's partners. Each year, TDTU receives thousands of international students to study and experience culture exchange; organizes inbound and outbound conferences for investment promotion, and international scientific seminars with hundreds of foreign guests. With a comprehensive cooperation program between the two sides, Saigontourist's products will be easily accessed by this partner network.

Also, in the signing ceremony, the leaders of functional units from both sides proposed a number of cooperation contents that could be implemented immediately such as designing and organizing tours to different schools, including TDTU; organizing career-oriented activities; cooperating to develop the training program of Sociology- Communication major; and sending students to enterprises for the internship.
