Responding to the call of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front, with responsibility and spirit, together with the whole country towards the provinces and cities in the Northern regions; towards compatriots, soldiers, teachers and students who suffered from storms and floods, on September 12, 2024, the lecturers, staff and students of Ton Duc Thang University (TDTU) actively deployed mobilization and contributions to provide material and spiritual support to people affected by natural disasters.
This campaign was launched by the Party Committee, assigned to TDTU Presidential Board and directed the TDTU Trade Union and the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union of TDTU to call on all lecturers, staff and students to join hands and contribute to share difficulties with people in storm and flood areas. Accordingly, implementing the spirit of the Presidium of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labour in Document No. 2046/TLĐ-QHLĐ, dated September 11, 2024, to mobilize units under the Vietnam General Confederation of Labour to encourage lecturers and staff to contribute at least one day’s salary per person to support the Northern provinces that are suffering huge losses in terms of human lives and property due to the storm No. 3.
Immediately after the campaign, grassroots trade unions and trade union groups throughout the University will receive contributions from union members at the units. At the same time, the TDTU Youth Union urgently continues to mobilize support through stations and student classes so that students have the opportunity to participate in support and contribution.
The entire amount of money in this campaign will be urgently transferred to localities that have suffered heavy damage caused by natural disasters, contributing to helping people in the North overcome difficulties and soon stabilize their lives.
The campaign, contributions, as well as support are meaningful human actions, demonstrating the sense of compatriots, the spirit and responsibility of sharing in difficult times, caring and protecting other people. It is also a lesson about humanity and kindness, and it is necessary to educate and spread the tradition of mutual love in the community.
