On September 12, 2021, Faculty of Business Administration, Ton Duc Thang University organized a workshop with the topic "Effective online teaching methods". The program was organized online with the participation of more than 50 full-time and visiting lecturers of the faculty.
The program had the participation of Dr. Nguyen Thi Lan Huong - Senior Advisor at RMIT University, Australia; Dr. Thai Dam Huy Trung - lecturer of National Cheng Kung University, Taiwan and Dr. Phung Minh Tuan - Head lecturer of Marketing Division of Ton Duc Thang University.
At the workshop, speakers and lecturers shared experiences and exchanged related issues in teaching on digital platforms. Many proposals had been made to overcome difficulties and problems in the teaching process in order to increase efficiency and attract learners.
Most of the lecturers participating in the exchange agreed with the main viewpoints in online teaching: Teaching not only needs a lesson plan or a detailed plan for each lesson, but also a "map" for the whole course. Good contents which are suitable for practical needs help learners have a realistic view; How to deliver contents so as to be attractive must also be focused.
In addition, the discussion also pointed out that the teaching is a two-way interaction between lecturers and students to create knowledge together, so that lecturers and students can all absorb. Applying lecture contents to specific practical problems to help students deeply understand the theory, understand the purpose of the courses positively is an effective way.
In the spirit of positive sharing, the workshop brought useful information and practical experiences which help lecturers do their jobs better in the context of online teaching and learning, a mandatory form in the current epidemic situation.
