On the 20th of April 2019, Vietnam - Finland International School (VFIS) organized the Opening Ceremony "Come by and say hi to VFIS". Attending the ceremony, visiting and experiencing VFIS were the following distinguished guests, Mr. Janne Oksanen, Deputy Head of Mission of Finnish Embassy in Vietnam, Prof. Le Vinh Danh, President of Ton Duc Thang University cum Founder of Vietnam - Finland International School, Mr. Do Tien Dong, Vice Chairman of Gia Lai People's Committee, leaders of Departments of education and training in provinces, teachers, parents, and students.
Guests, parents and students on the Open Day had the opportunity to know the different learning environment of the Finnish educational philosophy through various activities such as the seminar “VFIS! Happy and inspiring learning environment” which helps us thoroughly understand the program's content and educational pedagogy; the campus tour in modern, comfortable, safe and superior facilities for many educational goals of VFIS; discussion and exchange with Finnish education experts for their advice for learning orientation for children. In particular, nearly 200 students had the opportunity to participate in VFIS demo classes such as Home Economics, interdisciplinary and handicrafts under the guidance of Finnish teachers. These are daily activities at VFIS starting from this school year.
VFIS is the first original Finnish school in Asia designed and copyright supervised by the Finnish Architects. The construction engineering design and construction supervision were conducted by the powerful specialists from the Faculty of Civil Engineering of TDTU.
On this occasion, the Vietnam-Finland International School also introduced the 2019 Summer Program. The theme of "Natural Connectivity" will take place from June 6, 2019 to July 26, 2019 to help students train physically, develop their critical thinking, discover the beauty of nature, and love nature more through many new activities.
