Ton Duc Thang University Defense & Security Education Center Welcomed and Held a Working Session with the Survey Delegation of the Standing Committee of the Central Council for National Defense and Security Education

On April 16, 2025, a survey delegation of the Standing Committee of the Central Council for National Defense and Security Education, led by Major General Nguyen Quoc Toan - Deputy Director General of the Department of Militia and Self-Defense Forces, came to work with the Defense and Security Education Center of Ton Duc Thang University (TDTU).

Overview of the working session

The survey delegation worked at TDTU to grasp and examine the training capacity of the Defense & Security Education Centers. This serves as the basis for the Chief of the General Staff to report to the Chief of the Ministry of National Defense to propose the issuance of a new Decision to adjust and supplement the list of the associated Defense & Security Education Centers, replacing the Decision No. 2861/QĐ-BQP issued by the Minister of National Defense, dated August 24, 2021.

At the working session, after listening to Dr. Tran Trong Dao, President of TDTU and Director of the TDTU Defense and Security Education Center, report on the requested contents, the survey delegation conducted a field survey of a number of contents: (i) The quantity and quality of lecture halls, specialized classrooms, canteens, and housing must comply with current regulations and standards, ensuring that students can study, eat, reside, and live together at the center. The University is responsible for independently training students in a military lifestyle and environment; (ii) The quantity and quality of lesson plans, lectures, statistical registration books, facilities, training grounds, technical and tactical training grounds, team regulations, common living areas according to the program and course content for various subjects; (iii) The organizational structure, internal rules, and operating regulations of the center, faculties, and departments, along with the quantity and quality of full-time lecturers and student management staff, must meet prescribed standards; and checking the quantity and quality of bookkeeping records, lesson plans, lectures, and the processes for registration and management.

After the field survey, the delegation concluded and highly appreciated the facilities, training grounds for teaching, student accommodation, teaching organization and student management at the TDTU Defense and Security Education Center. The delegation also pointed out a number of points that need to be improved and revised so that the Center can better perform the work of security and defense education for students according to the assigned tasks.
