Event series themed “Dare to live a brilliant life”
In response to International Women's Day (March 8), Vietnam Book and Reading Culture Day (April 21), Inspirational Library in collaboration with the National Political Publishing House Truth in Ho Chi Minh City organized the Event series with the theme “Dare to live a brilliant life”, including many activities to inspire young people to explore national identity, nurture passion and affirm their own values.
INFORMATION ABOUT THE PROGRAM SERIES:
1. Workshop “Dare to live a brilliant life”
Time: 9:30-11:30, March 11, 2025 (Tuesday)
Location: Hall 10F.
Speaker introduction:
- Ms. Nguyen Bong Mai, daughter of the late musician An Thuyen, is known for her roles as: singer; director; journalist; editor. She is also known as the singer of the Con Gai band, a famous band in the late 1990s. She worked for 12 years at the national television station VTV and 3 years as manager of the VTVCab Education and Entertainment Content Production Center. Bong Mai is also the author of the book "Du khac: The colorful costumes of Vietnamese ethnic women", recording a 99-day journey across the country to discover the unique beauty of traditional costumes of ethnic groups. The book is not only a valuable research document but also an inspirational story about preserving ethnic culture in the new era.
- Mr. Nguyen Hong Khiem is currently the Head of the Fashion Design Department, Faculty of Industrial Fine Arts, Ton Duc Thang University. With extensive experience in teaching and research, he has made many important contributions to the field of fashion design. Not only imparting professional knowledge, the teacher also guides students to approach creative trends in design and develop aesthetic thinking. He also actively participates in professional activities, connecting students with the real environment of the fashion industry.

2. Exhibition program "Brilliant colors of Vietnamese ethnic women's costumes"
Time: 09/3 - 11/3/2025.
Location: Ground floor lobby, Library.
Exhibition content:
Displaying images and documents about traditional costumes of Vietnamese ethnic groups based on documents from the book Du khao: Brilliant colors of Vietnamese ethnic women's costumes by author Nguyen Bong Mai. The exhibition program will display 52 paintings, including 20 paintings reflecting life, 20 paintings illustrating traditional costumes and 12 paintings of real costumes with captions that will specifically describe each costume and the accessories that make up the costume. With nearly 1,000 meticulously drawn details, from weaving, embroidery, fabric dyeing techniques to patterns and accessories, the exhibition space offers a vivid perspective on the cultural identity of ethnic minorities such as Mong, Dao, Tay, Nung, Thai, etc.
3. Exhibition program integrating augmented reality (AR) technology, theme: "Vietnamese people's costumes"
Time: from March 8, 2025 to March 21, 2025.
Location: 1st floor, Library.
Exhibition content:
"Vietnamese people's costumes" is a book project combined with AR augmented reality technology to illustrate the traditional costumes of 54 Vietnamese ethnic groups. Not only introducing traditional costumes on unique graphics, the collection also provides information about the materials, motifs and meanings of each costume. By applying AR to the illustrations, the displays allow viewers to scan the code on the book page to see vivid 3D images of characters dancing to typical tunes to the music of each ethnic group. "Dong bao Viet phuc" is a non-profit community project, aiming to spread love and pride in national culture to the community.
