There were 5 groups for men and 1 group for women. Each group was a round-robin where the teams coming first and second qualify for the next round. After successfully overcoming 25 teams from 22 universities in HCMC, TDTU men’s basketball team won the championship. After 6 continuous years that the championship belonged to HCMC University of Education and Sports, this marks the first title of TDTU men’s basketball team. Nguyen Hoang Tuan, from Faculty of Sport Science, won the “Best Player” prize. Moreover, TDTU women’s basketball team won the third prize. 

What TDTU men and women’s basketball team achieved in the early 2018 gives great encouragement to the movement of student sport, stimulates the spirit of physical training and helps to set higher goals for all the 16 sports that are being trained at the University.
