Ton Duc Thang University continues to participate in the training programme assessment according to AUN-QA standards

On the morning of December 20, 2022, the ASEAN University Network-Quality Assurance (AUN-QA) together with Ton Duc Thang University (TDTU) officially held the opening session of the AUN-QA programme assessment for 4 majors including Pharmacy, Chemical Engineering, Interior Design, and Environmental Engineering Technology.

The AUN-QA delegation included Dr. Choltis Dhirathiti - Managing Director, Prof. Dr. Yahaya Md. Sam - Leader of the Delegation and a member of the Assessment Committee, other assessors, and secretaries.

In the opening speech, Dr. Tran Trong Dao - President of TDTU highly appreciated the standards of AUN-QA. This is a solid basis for the University to comprehensively view training activities, especially the input - process - output standards, programme framework, lecturers, students, facilities, quality assurance and business association.

Dr. Choltis Dhirathiti - Executive Director of AUN emphasized that lifelong learning is playing an increasingly important role in the development of society. To do that, universities need to build goals and strategies to develop as well as ensure the curriculum framework and training quality meet accreditation standards, in line with the development trend of global education. Dr. Dhirathiti hoped that through this assessment, TDTU will recognize and improve the quality of the programmes to be closer to the international training programmes.

On behalf of AUN-QA and the assessment delegation, Dr. Choltis Dhirathiti thanked the University’s leaders, lecturers, staff and students, especially the 4 programmes participating in this assessment, and invited TDTU to participate in the big programmes of AUN-QA that will take place in the future.

TDTU has had 11 Bachelor programmes successfully assessed according to AUN-QA accreditation standards. Having 4 more programmes assessed and recognized by AUN-QA is an important step of the University in the process of internationalization and development of TDTU towards a research university.

The assessment takes place from December 20 to December 22, 2022, with various assessment activities including working with Faculty Leaders and self-assessment team; interviewing stakeholders including lecturers, staff, students, alumni, enterprises; and directly visiting the University’s and assessed programmes’ facilities to help assessors identify the strengths and weaknesses of the University and make recommendations to improve the quality of training programmes.
