TDTU Joins the Online Access Point for Conference on Implementing Conclusion No. 91-KL/TW, Resolution No. 57-NQ/TW of the Politburo, and Education Development Strategy to 2030, Vision to 2045
On the afternoon of February 6, 2025, at its main campus in Tan Phong Ward, District 7, Ho Chi Minh City, Ton Duc Thang University (TDTU) organized an online access point to participate in the conference on implementing Conclusion No. 91-KL/TW, Resolution No. 57-NQ/TW of the Politburo, and the Education Development Strategy to 2030, with a Vision to 2045. The conference was hosted by the Ministry of Education and Training (MOET).
Attending the online access point at TDTU were Dr. Vu Anh Duc – Chairman of the University Council, Dr. Tran Trong Dao – President of TDTU, along with members of the University Council, the Presidential Board, leaders of affiliated units, and a large number of lecturers, researchers, and staff.
The conference was conducted in a hybrid format, combining in-person and online participation at various localities and higher education institutions across the country.
Deputy Minister Nguyen Van Phuc hosted the conference, emphasizing the implementation of Conclusion No. 91-KL/TW, dated August 12, 2024, of the Politburo, which continues to enforce Resolution No. 29-NQ/TW, dated November 4, 2013, of the 11th Central Committee of the Communist Party on the fundamental and comprehensive reform of education and training to meet the demands of industrialization, modernization, and international integration within a socialist-oriented market economy (Conclusion 91). Deputy Minister Hoang Minh Son addressed the implementation of Resolution No. 57-NQ/TW, dated December 22, 2024, of the Politburo, which focuses on breakthroughs in science, technology, innovation, and national digital transformation (Resolution 57). Deputy Minister Pham Ngoc Thuong provided insights and discussions on the application of Conclusion 91 and Resolution 57 in the context of general education.
At the conference, the Ministry of Education and Training (MOET) affirmed that after ten years of fundamental and comprehensive education reform, Vietnam’s education sector has achieved remarkable milestones. Regarding Resolution No. 57, the MOET acknowledged the challenges and difficulties but emphasized that the education sector is at a critical turning point for breakthrough development and significant transformation. The advancement of science, technology, innovation, and digital transformation is now a key driver of national progress, providing the greatest opportunity for Vietnam to become a prosperous and powerful nation in the new era of national resurgence.
Regarding the implementation of the Education Development Strategy to 2030, with a Vision to 2045, Deputy Minister Nguyen Van Phuc emphasized that to achieve the goal of making Vietnam’s education system regionally advanced by 2030 and globally competitive by 2045, several key measures must be undertaken including improving the institutional framework and reforming education management and school governance, ensuring equitable access to education for all, expanding the educational network to meet learners’ demands, and innovating teaching content, pedagogical methods, assessment, and quality evaluation to enhance educational effectiveness.
In concluding the conference, Deputy Minister Nguyen Van Phuc emphasized that the implementation of Conclusion No. 91, Resolution No. 57 of the Politburo, and the Education Development Strategy to 2030, with a Vision to 2045, will have a significant impact on education and training. Therefore, Departments of Education and Training (DOETs), higher education institutions, and teacher training colleges must strive to overcome challenges and seize opportunities for effective execution. The Deputy Minister stated that the MOET will continue to advise the Government on issuing an action plan and will proactively introduce its own implementation program for these key documents. He urged institutions to thoroughly disseminate the content across the sector to enhance awareness and consensus in execution. Higher education institutions were particularly advised to deeply internalize and ensure unified implementation of the resolutions at each institution; translate key tasks into concrete actions for higher education reform; review, revise, and align institutional development strategies with these resolutions; and proactively adopt new policies, especially those related to high-quality workforce training.
