Ton Duc Thang University (TDTU) is pleased to announce Dr. Tran Minh Phuong, Lecturer of the Faculty of Mathematics & Statistics, Head of the Applied Analysis Research Group of TDTU has just been awarded First Prize of the 2023 Outstanding Mathematics Work Award under the National Key Program for Developing Mathematics in the period 2021-2030.

This is a Ministerial-level Science and Technology Award, given every 3 years and only for works published in highly prestigious international journals.

This year, the Awards were given to 35 excellent Mathematics works, of which 5 were First Prize, 12 were Second Prize and 18 were Third Prize. The work “Level-set inequalities on fractional maximal distribution functions and applications to regularity theory” written by Dr. Tran Minh Phuong, submitted and published in the Journal of Functional Analysis, was one of 5 works that won First Prize. This is research work on level-set inequality applied to the formal theory of partial differential equations. This inequality can also be solved for many different layers of partial differential equations.

Honored to receive the Award, Dr. Tran Minh Phuong also shared: “This is an honor for me personally, I also send my thanks to the Faculty of Mathematics & Statistics and Ton Duc Thang University, where there are friendly colleagues and a favourable research environment. The University always supports and encourages me in my teaching and scientific research activities. This award is motivation for the upcoming journey, hoping to contribute a small part to the overall development of Mathematics in Vietnam.”
