TDTU Faculty of Civil Engineering recently collaborated with Hasselt University in Belgium, to organize a series of architecture-planning courses that took place in the Cần Giờ Studio from January to June 2017. The initiative was part of an ongoing bilateral link between two universities, funded by the European Union Erasmus+ Scholarship Program. Having studied and collaborated together in Vietnam, students of TDTU and UH continued to work together and exchanged knowledge and ideas via email and skype to complete the project at the end of June 2017. The final results were evaluated and graded by the jury, as well as professors from both TDTU and UH.
In February 2017, students of the two schools were given time to exchange and study over a six-day period that included a variety of research activities, field surveys and field designs in Can Gio Island District, Ho Chi Minh City. Multiple architectural-planning seminars were also organized during this period to provide useful, relevant knowledge for those in attendance. The course was an international learning opportunity for TDTU students as well as lecturers and all participants had the opportunity to learn the latest, modern architectural methods and techniques from their European peers. For UH students, this was an opportunity to experience and learn about Eastern culture, thereby contributing to the long-term cooperation between UH and TDTU.
