Awarding FIATA certificates to students of the Faculty of Business Administration

On December 26, 2020, the Faculty of Business Administration, Ton Duc Thang University (TDTU) awarded the international vocational certificate FIATA - International Federation of Freight Forwarders according to the standards of FIATA Diploma in Freight Forwarding for International Business students who have just completed this training program.

The ceremony was attended by Mr. Le Duy Hiep, President of Vietnam Logistics Business Association (VLA); Ms. Nguyen Thi Thuy An, Project Manager of Global Projects and Industry Solutions, DB. Schenker Vietnam; Mr. Tran Tri Dung, Founder & Chairman, Logistics Star Links Company; Mr. Dang Vu Thanh, CEO of Sotrans Logistics along with more than 200 students in the High-Quality International Business program.

During the ceremony, organizers of the program also held a seminar with the topic "Global Thinking of Trade and Logistics in a New Normal". The speakers shared about the opportunities and challenges for the trend of global trade and logistics development in the context of a prolonged epidemic, especially information related to the application of digital technology, the impact of new generation of free trade agreements and human resource requirements.

Assoc. Prof. Dr. Pham Thi Minh Ly, Dean of the Faculty of Business Administration, introduced the potential and advantages of the current logistics industry, and emphasized the importance of training high quality human resources to meet the requirements of domestic and multinational enterprises. Organizing the FIATA vocational certificate training program for students in the High-Quality program is one of TDTU's ways to improve its quality of education. With this certificate, students are updated with the latest practical knowledge of logistics, and full confidence when working in an international environment.

In addition, the cooperation with Vietnam Logistics Business Association will create conditions for TDTU students to have many opportunities for internships in practical and professional working environments. Representatives from FIATA, VILAS and VLA are also committed to prioritize recruitment of TDTU students, coordinate to organize vocational certification training programs, and develop skills and career orientation for students in the future.
