On August 24, 2024, the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union of Ton Duc Thang University (TDTU) organized its 7th Congress for the term 2024 – 2027.
The Congress convened 150 official delegates from various units, representing over 26,000 union members and youths currently working and studying at the University.
The Congress was honored to welcome the attendance of Comrade Truong Minh Tuoc Nguyen – Permanent Deputy Secretary and Chairman of the Inspection Committee of the Ho Chi Minh City Youth Union; Comrade Do Phan Nhu Nguyet – Member of the Standing Committee and Head of the Organization and Inspection Committee of the Ho Chi Minh City Youth Union; Comrade Luong Si Nhan – Member of the Executive Committee and Deputy Head of the Organization and Inspection Committee of the Ho Chi Minh City Youth Union, along with other representatives from various departments of the Ho Chi Minh City Youth Union.
On behalf of the Party Committee and the Presidential Board of Ton Duc Thang University, the Congress was honored to welcome Dr. Tran Trong Dao – Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee and President of the University, and Assoc. Prof. Dr. Pham Thi Minh Ly – Member of the Standing Committee and Chairperson of the Inspection Committee of the University’s Party Committee. The Congress also warmly welcomed representatives from other Youth Union branches who attended and extended their congratulations.
The Congress reviewed the report on the activities of the Youth Union and youth movements during the term 2022 – 2024 and set forth objectives and directions for the term 2024 – 2027. The Congress also included valuable discussions and contributions from delegates, offering various solutions and strategic directions for the Youth Union’s activities and movements in the 7th term. Additionally, the delegates unanimously vote to approve the resolutions of the Congress.
The Congress received and acknowledged the directives from Comrade Truong Minh Tuoc Nguyen, Dr. Tran Trong Dao, and Assoc. Prof. Dr. Pham Thi Minh Ly regarding the execution of Youth Union activities and movements. Their speeches acknowledged and commended the outstanding achievements of the Youth Union during the term 2022 – 2024, and they also expressed high expectation for the new Executive Committee to accomplish its entrusted responsibilities with excellence.
The Congress proceeded with seriousness and effectiveness through two sessions, resulting in the election of a new Executive Committee comprising 25 members. The first meeting of the new Executive Committee elected a Standing Committee of 7 members, with Comrade Tran Le Anh Huy being re-elected as Secretary of the University’s Youth Union. Comrades Le Thanh Phuoc and Nguyen Truong Tho were elected as Deputy Secretaries of the University’s Youth Union for the term 2024 – 2027. The Congress also elected a 5-member Inspection Committee. Additionally, the University rewarded 15 individuals for their outstanding contributions to the Youth Union’s activities and student movements during the past term.
With the slogan “Patriotism – Aspiration – Pioneering – Creativity,” the 7th Congress of the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union of Ton Duc Thang University for the term 2024 – 2027 concluded successfully, marking the beginning of a new journey filled with opportunities, contributing significantly to the realization of the goals and resolutions set forth by the Congress.
