Education & Times Newspaper: Ton Duc Thang University Establishes Three Additional Strong Research Groups
On June 17, Ton Duc Thang University (TDTU) announced the establishment of three new interdisciplinary strong research groups, bringing the University's total number of strong research groups to 13.

The newly established groups include: Environmental Technology and Bioremediation Research Group (EnBIO Lab) – Faculty of Environment and Labour Safety; Innovation in Sustainability Analytics and Governance for Enterprises Research Group (iSAGE) – Faculty of Accounting; and Society, Culture and Development Research Group (SCD) – Faculty of Social Sciences and Humanities.
To date, TDTU has developed a network of 13 strong research groups, which serve as a core force in the University's strategy to become a research-oriented university by 2030.
The establishment of these groups represents a concrete action in response to the spirit of Resolution No. 57-NQ/TW of the Politburo on breakthroughs in science and technology development, innovation, and national digital transformation, as well as Conclusion No. 91-KL/TW on continuing the fundamental and comprehensive reform of education and training.
It is also aligned with Vietnam’s Higher Education Development Strategy to 2030 and Ho Chi Minh City's priority programs in science and technology.

The formation of strong research groups aims to establish centers of excellence that promote innovation, scientific research, and technology transfer; develop advanced technological solutions; and strengthen the scientific and technological foundation of the University.
Through these efforts, TDTU seeks to enhance its competitiveness and capacity to undertake scientific and technological missions while contributing to the training of highly qualified human resources.
To support these groups, the University has invested significantly in research infrastructure, including interdisciplinary research laboratories, specialized chemistry-biology laboratories, mechanical-electrical-electronics laboratories, advanced chemistry and materials laboratories, structural engineering laboratories equipped with specialized research facilities, and a high-performance computing (HPC) system.
In addition, specialized research equipment, library resources, academic repositories, and discipline-specific research databases continue to be upgraded and expanded.

Speaking at the announcement ceremony, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Tran Trong Dao, President of TDTU, emphasized that the establishment of the new strong research groups marks an important milestone in the University's science and technology development strategy and demonstrates TDTU’s long-term commitment to building a solid and sustainable research foundation.
He affirmed that the University will continue to provide favorable conditions in terms of facilities, funding, and academic environment to enable the research groups to maximize their potential and effectively carry out scientific and technological missions.
