Ton Duc Thang University students successfully called for startup capital at the TDTU Startup Wings 2023 competition

After 6 months from November 21, 2022, the startup competition for students of Ton Duc Thang University (TDTU) with the theme “TDTU Startup Wings 2023” was officially closed on the morning of May 12, 2023 through the convincing rounds of “calling for capital” of the 3 best teams.

The jury in the final round consisted of Mr. Truong Quoc Bao - Deputy General Director of BrainGroup, expert of BGS Global Vietnam; Ms. Nguyen Ngoc Kim Trinh - Head of Customer Service Department of BGS Global Vietnam; Ms. Huynh Thi Cam Linh - Representative of the TDTU Center of Enterprise Cooperation and Alumni; Dr. Huynh Van Van - Assistant Dean of the Faculty of Electrical and Electronics Engineering; Dr. Vo Huu Hau and Dr. Nguyen Van Dung - Lecturers of the Faculty of Electrical and Electronics Engineering.

After many rounds, including qualifying, idea proposal, teamwork, finding solutions, and presenting ideas, the 3 best teams were funded to execute and perfect the actual product. Through the coherent and caring performance in each product, TDTU students have demonstrated their creative thinking, ability to reason and build professional strategies, bringing new perspectives when combining technical skills and business art. The organizers highly appreciated the applicability of the ideas through the performances of the teams, especially the aesthetics and the ability to apply technical knowledge to optimize the limitations in the product. These are also necessary skills equipped for students in the learning and training process.

Excellently performing in the final round, the CLOVER team won the special prize with the idea of ​​“Suspending Object Lifting Table” which applies the electromagnetic fields and 3D printing technology. NEWATER team and Blue Light team won the outstanding idea prize.

Within the framework of the competition, teams are given the opportunity to participate in a workshop in which they are guided on how to think and build a startup strategy. They are able to equip themselves with the necessary skills to plan and develop their ideas, and meet advisors who are leading experts with many years of experience in the field of startups for orientation and plan implementation. This competition is not only a useful playground, helping students apply their knowledge and skills in practice, but also an opportunity for them to meet, exchange and improve their solidarity among students of the University.
