The opening of the contest named “Students join hands to save electricity”

On the morning of April 6, 2022, the Faculty of Electrical and Electronics Engineering of Ton Duc Thang University (TDTU) cooperated with Ho Chi Minh City Power Corporation (EVN HCMC) to organize a contest named “Students join hands to save electricity”.

Attending the opening ceremony were Mr. Pham Viet Anh – Deputy Head of the Communications Department, Mr. Tran Quoc Thai - Sales Specialist of EVN HCMC. From TDTU, there were Dr. Dong Si Thien Chau - Dean of the Faculty of Electrical and Electronics Engineering, Head of the Competition Organizing Committee and many lecturers, staff and students of the Faculty.

In the context of increasing demand for energy, the economical and efficient use of energy, especially electric energy, is considered one of the effective solutions to help ensure national energy security, protect the environment as well as help develop the energy industry sustainably.

With the purpose of contributing to raise the awareness of saving electricity among students and the community, the contest aims at the following goals:

  • Searching for new breakthrough solutions in economical and efficient use of energy, especially in saving electricity;
  • Propagating, disseminating and raising the awareness of saving electricity among students and the community, promoting the efficient use of energy in schools as well as households.

The contest is for TDTU students in the form of an infographic or video that clearly shows the message of energy saving in a vivid and accessible way. The contest is expected to close at the beginning of June 2022 with the highest prize worth 3 million VND and many other valuable prizes.
