The January 2025 Public Lectures: “Taiwan Semiconductor Talent Strategies”
On January 15, 2025, at Ton Duc Thang University (TDTU), the January 2025 Public Lectures was held with the topic “Taiwan Semiconductor Talent Strategies”. The speaker of the program was Dr. Edison Chen, CEO of TEALA and project advisor for the Ministry of Economic Affairs of Taiwan.
Present at the program were Dr. Vo Hoang Duy, Vice President of TDTU; Assoc. Prof. Dr. Le Duc Hien, Head of the Department for Management of Science and Technology Development; and representatives from various units. The event also welcomed researchers, staff, and students from the University’s Faculties.
At the program, the speakers emphasized the role of the government and enterprises in developing specialized study programs, establishing international research centers, and building global cooperation opportunities. These initiatives include promoting joint Master’s and Doctoral study programs, increasing English-taught courses, and cooperating with countries such as Germany and the Czech Republic to train international talents.
In addition, Mr. Chen also shared that Taiwan is becoming a center for semiconductor research and innovation with the presence of many of the world’s leading technology companies. Through its strategy of attracting and developing talent, Taiwan aims to become a “Global Talent Center”, contributing to the international semiconductor supply chain.
Through the presentation, the Speaker gave useful recommendations, especially for Vietnamese students, to improve their capacity and career orientation in the high-tech industry, including semiconductors and artificial intelligence.
TDTU Public Lectures is a series of special activities of TDTU to connect experts, scientists, leaders, and enterprises with lecturers and students of the University, to bring useful knowledge and information to lecturers, staff, and students, contributing to enhancing the position and reputation of the University.
