On 27 March, 2019, Vietnam - Finland International School (VFIS) officially received the Certificate of Curriculum approved by the Finnish National Agency of Education, Ministry of Education and Culture of Finland. With the trust in the consulting quality of Finnish education partners in building the mission, vision, goals, educational environment and detailed program for VFIS, etc., the Finnish National Agency for Education has implemented the policy on awarding certificate of program for a school outside Finland for the first time (although it had never implemented a policy on quality accreditation and educational inspector at any educational institution outside Finland). With the document on program approval for VFIS, the committee has empowered teachers to be proactive in designing the program, selecting teaching methods and teaching materials.
As known, the Finnish National Agency for Education had to set up a team of experts to draft the criteria of a Finnish school and hold meetings of a specialized council and education managers at various levels many times before deciding to issue a Certificate to state that VFIS curriculum meets Finnish general education standards. In addition, in this document, the Finnish National Agency for Education also recognizes that the vision, mission, values, teaching staff, and governance model are consistent with the compulsory criteria of Finnish schools. The event not only shows timely interest and support from the Government, Ministry of Education and Culture, the Finnish National Agency for Education of Finland, but also affirms their prestige and seriousness in building Vietnam-Finland International School on a community of Trust, Equality and Collaboration. Currently, Vietnam - Finland International School is about to be completed and ready to welcome students and parents to visit on the upcoming April 20, 2019.
