On the morning of 20 May 1977, Ton Duc Thang University (TDTU) held a seminar on "SOLUTIONS TO ENHANCE THE QUALITY OF TEACHING AND LEARNING THE SUBJECT OF NATIONAL DEFENSE AND SECURITY EDUCATION”. The seminar welcomed the presence of Mr. Nguyen Van Bac, Deputy Secretary of the TDTU Communist Party Committee; Colonel Vu Ba Thanh, Senior Executive of the Defense Department, Ministry of Education and Training; and representatives of more than 20 Centers of Defense Education and Security of universities and colleges located in Ho Chi Minh City, Dong Nai, and Binh Duong provinces.

The seminar was a forum for delegates to exchange and share new solutions to improve the quality of teaching for national defense education. In particular, it focused upon the use of new teaching methods to suit various practical needs, training teachers to ensure the appropriate investment in facilities as well as the quantity and quality of teaching and learning equipment required for future innovation.  In addition, the seminar included various extra-curricular activities, including a visit to cultural and historical sites, socializing with Hoang Sa-Truong Sa soldiers, to mention but a few.  The seminar was also a good opportunity  to promote patriotism of the young generation of today through education.
