On the morning of July 24, 2017, Ton Duc Thang University's Department of Sports Science (TDTU) organized a workshop on "Organizing Events and Communication in Sports". Participants in the workshop were: Prof. Dr. Huynh Trong Khai, Former President of Ho Chi Minh City University of Physical Education and Sports; Mr. Vo Danh Hai, PhD, Vice President of the World Martial Arts Association; Mr. Nguyen Thanh Huy, Secretary General of Vietnam Taekwondo Federation; Mr. Ha Huy Tuong, Acting Editor in HCMC Sports Newspaper; Professor Huang Yen Hsiang and Professor Anthony Huang from National Taiwan Sports University; Representatives from many leading sport event companies in Vietnam; lecturers and students from universities that train sports.

During the workshop, experts presented various presentations in the field of organization and communication of sports events. Professor Huang Yen Hsiang brought to the audience an overview of organizing sport events from the hosting application process to the post-event activities. Professor Anthony Huang presented how media products can be used to change the fans perception from an ignorant to the enthusiastic fan of any sport. As a man who has brought many international martial arts events to Vietnam, Dr. Vo Danh Hai has revealed the "great way" to attract sponsors to accompany the event, a prerequisite for the success of any sport event today.

The seminar "Organizing Events and Communication in Sport" is an opportunity for TDTU lecturers and students to gain practical knowledge from leading experts. Especially, for students of the Faculty of Sport Sciences, this is also an opportunity for them to be more passionate about their choice and to strive to become talent event managers in the future.
