On the morning of July 15, 2022, at Ton Duc Thang University (TDTU), the Conference on “Developing Intelligent Digital Libraries: International Experience - Proposed Solutions for Vietnam: DIDL 2022” was opened. It was co-organized by TDTU and Chulalongkorn University (Thailand).
DIDL 2022 is an academic forum to share about the development trend of digital data sources in the context of library interoperability and appropriate application solutions related to building and developing intelligent digital libraries in Vietnam.
In the opening speech, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Amorn Petsom - Director of the Central Library of Chulalongkorn University said, “The conference is a useful forum for experts in the field of libraries to share ideas and solutions to develop intelligent digital libraries. This is an opportunity for Vietnam to develop library solutions for education in particular and for society in general.”
DIDL 2022 attracted 27 reports, of which 12 were selected to be presented online. The reports and discussions focused on exchanging experiences of the international community in the process of developing digital resources, building and diversifying intelligent digital libraries, digital information products and artificially intellectual applications, and developing digital applications on smart devices to meet the needs of learning, research and entertainment.
The conference also offered solutions to develop intelligent digital libraries with specific models and ways of continuing to invest in upgrading hardware and software, completing technical infrastructure and information security solutions, ensuring the provision of all kinds of information services to meet the needs of library users.
The reports will be collected and selected to be published in the Journal of Information and Documentation (Ministry of Science and Technology of Vietnam), One World Magazine (Vietnam Science and Technology Information Association).
