The Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union Central Committee and Ministry of Science and Technology have just held the Youth Science and Technology Awards (Golden Globes 2019) for young talents with outstanding achievements in the field of science and technology. Among 20
candidates, Dr. Vo Van Giau, an alumnus of the Faculty of Applied Science of Ton Duc Thang University (TDTU) was ranked at the 6 th place with 26,920 votes.

Dr. Vo Van Giau graduated from TDTU in 2009 with the Biotechnology major and received a full scholarship to pursue his PhD at Gachon University, Korea. During his doctoral study, he continued to receive scholarships for international students with outstanding academic and
research achievements awarded by the Woojung Cultural and Educational Foundation in Korea for many consecutive years. Since 2017, Dr. Giau was appointed as Assistant Professor at the Department of Bio-Nanotechnology of Gachon University.

Dr. Giau is currently the Head of Bio-Nanotechnology Research Team and the expert in genetics and breeding of TDTU. He is also a member of the Editorial Board of SCIREA Journal of Biology.

Dr. Vo Van Giau has had 36 scientific papers published in international journals; of which 19 articles are in the Q1 list (the lead authors of 13 articles), 11 articles are in the Q2 list (the lead authors of 07 articles), 04 articles are in the Q3 list (the lead author of 02 articles), 02 articles
published in other international magazines; 36 scientific reports are published in the proceedings of international scientific conferences both nationally and internationally (the lead author of 25 reports). There are 03 award-winning works presenting excellent posters at specialized conferences. In addition, Dr. Giau is also the co-author of the patent published in Korea.
