Over 2,000 Runners Participate in UpRace 2026 Community Running Event at Ton Duc Thang University

On October 11, 2026, Ton Duc Thang University (TDTU) organized the UpRace 2026 Community Running Event, attracting more than 2,000 participants. Under the message “Every Step Counts – Every Step for the Community,” the event promoted physical fitness, healthy lifestyles, and social responsibility throughout the TDTU community.

The event was attended by Ms. Truong My Hoa, former Secretary of the Communist Party of Vietnam Central Committee, former Vice President of Vietnam, and President of the Fund for Youth in Mountainous and Island Areas; Dr. Dang Ngoc Tung, former Member of the Communist Party of Vietnam Central Committee and former President of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labour; Miss H'Hen Nie, UpRace Ambassador for the Fund for Youth in Mountainous and Island Areas; representatives of the UpRace 2026 Organizing Committee; and representatives of partner organizations.

Assoc. Prof. Dr. Tran Trong Dao, Secretary of the University's Party Committee and Rector of TDTU, also joined the event, running alongside the University's lecturers, staff members, employees, alumni, and students.

Having participated in UpRace since 2022, TDTU has continued to organize community running activities to encourage regular physical exercise and strengthen connections among generations of lecturers, staff members, and students. Notably, through the UpRace platform, every valid kilometer completed contributes to fundraising efforts for the Fund for Youth in Mountainous and Island Areas (formerly the Vu A Dinh Scholarship Fund), supporting young people and students in disadvantaged regions.

As part of the event, TDTU awarded three “TDTU – Empowering Students” scholarships to students facing financial difficulties, including students from naval regions and ethnic minority communities. With a total value of nearly VND 92 million, the scholarships provided financial assistance and encouragement for recipients to continue pursuing their studies and personal development.

Through this event, TDTU reaffirmed its commitment to promoting healthy lifestyles, solidarity, and social responsibility, ensuring that every step taken not only benefits individual well-being but also contributes to positive change in society.
