Panel Discussion “Uncle Ho’s Testament – A Guiding Light for the Younger Generation” at Ton Duc Thang University
On October 6, 2026, Ton Duc Thang University (TDTU), in collaboration with the Ho Chi Minh City Association of Former Revolutionary Prisoners, organized the panel discussion “Uncle Ho’s Testament – A Guiding Light for the Younger Generation.” The program aimed to contribute to educating young people about revolutionary ideals and deepen their understanding of the profound values embodied in President Ho Chi Minh’s Testament, thereby encouraging them to carry forward those values through dedicated study, self-improvement, and contribution to society.
The event was attended by representatives of the Party Committee of the Ho Chi Minh City People’s Committee; the Ho Chi Minh City Association of Former Revolutionary Prisoners; leaders of Ton Duc Thang University; more than 100 former political prisoners; and over 200 TDTU lecturers, staff members, and students.
A highlight of the program was the dialogue among historical witnesses, lecturers, and students, featuring Hero of the People’s Armed Forces Vo Van Em, a former political prisoner at Con Dao. Through the memories of those who personally experienced the war and years of imprisonment, the story of President Ho Chi Minh’s Testament was brought to life in a moving and relatable way.
Through direct dialogue with students, the historical witnesses also conveyed a meaningful message to today’s younger generation: cherish the value of peace, nurture ideals and faith, continuously pursue learning and self-improvement, live responsibly, and be ready to contribute to the country.
As part of the program, TDTU also held the closing and award ceremony for the competition “Learning about President Ho Chi Minh’s Testament – A Legacy for Future Generations.” Held from September 9 to 28, 2026, the competition featured online quizzes, reflective writing, and stage performances, attracting nearly 7,000 participations from students of TDTU and Nguyen Tat Thanh University.
The event provided an opportunity for stories of history to be retold through the memories of those who lived through them, while creating a space for the younger generation to engage in dialogue, reflect, and gain a deeper awareness of their responsibilities. In this way, the values embodied in President Ho Chi Minh’s Testament are not only preserved as a historical legacy but also continue to be passed on through the learning, self-improvement, and contributions of each generation.
