Ton Duc Thang University and Hanoi University of Mining and Geology Sign a Memorandum of Understanding for the 2026–2028 Period

On June 16, 2026, Ton Duc Thang University (TDTU) and Hanoi University of Mining and Geology (HUMG) held a ceremony to sign a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU), marking a new milestone in the partnership between the two higher education institutions. The event aims to strengthen collaboration and leverage the respective strengths of both parties in education, scientific research, technology transfer, and community engagement.

Attending the ceremony, the HUMG delegation was led by Assoc. Prof. Dr. Tran Xuan Truong, Secretary of the Party Committee and President of the University, accompanied by leaders of affiliated units. Representing TDTU were Assoc. Prof. Dr. Tran Trong Dao, Secretary of the Party Committee and President of the University, together with members of the Presidential Board and leaders of functional departments and academic faculties.

During the meeting, leaders of the two universities discussed strategic directions for cooperation during the 2026 – 2028 period and shared experiences in a wide range of areas, including science and technology, international cooperation, organizational development, human resource management, financial management, student recruitment, and campus infrastructure development.

Under the MoU, the two universities agreed to implement collaborative activities based on the principles of voluntariness, equality, mutual respect, and the effective utilization of each institution’s strengths and capabilities. Key areas of cooperation include:

  • Academic training and expert exchanges: Collaborating in the exchange of lecturers and researchers for teaching and research activities, and jointly developing interdisciplinary programs as well as domestic and international joint training programs.
  • Academic resource sharing: Enhancing the effective utilization of libraries, laboratories, databases, and technology platforms to support education and research activities.
  • Strengthening scientific research capacity: Sharing experience in developing strong research groups, promoting international publications in reputable journals, and jointly implementing key scientific research projects and programs at the ministerial, national, and international levels.
  • Industry engagement and innovation promotion: Collaborating in the organization of career orientation and entrepreneurship activities, while connecting with and introducing domestic and international business and organizational partners to support the development of high-quality human resources.

Speaking at the ceremony, leaders of both universities affirmed their shared vision for development, commitment to innovation, and aspiration to enhance the quality of higher education.

The signing of the MoU between TDTU and HUMG further expands TDTU’s network of academic, research, and innovation partnerships with reputable higher education institutions both in Viet Nam and internationally.
