Vietnamnet Newspaper: Gia Lai and Ton Duc Thang University Strengthen Cooperation for the 2026–2030 Period
On June 6, 2026, Ton Duc Thang University (TDTU) and the People’s Committee of Gia Lai Province signed a cooperation agreement for the 2026–2030 period, focusing on high-quality human resource development and technology transfer aligned with the province’s practical development needs.
The event was co-chaired by Mr. Lam Hai Giang, Vice Chairman of the Gia Lai Provincial People’s Committee, and Assoc. Prof. Dr. Tran Trong Dao, President of TDTU, with the participation of leaders from provincial departments and agencies as well as representatives of TDTU’s functional units.

Bringing Knowledge into Practice
Over the years, cooperation programs between TDTU and Gia Lai Province (including the former provinces of Gia Lai and Binh Dinh) have generated tangible outcomes and contributed directly to local development.
Human resource training and professional development programs for public officials have been implemented systematically and effectively. Career guidance activities have been strengthened through cooperation agreements with high schools across the province and through student internship and experiential learning programs, helping students access admissions information and choose academic disciplines that match both their abilities and the province’s workforce needs.
TDTU has also awarded 177 scholarships to students from Gia Lai Province, with a total value exceeding VND 3.5 billion. In addition, volunteer initiatives such as building charity houses, constructing children's playgrounds, and supporting local communities have been carried out effectively and meaningfully.
A particularly notable aspect of the partnership has been scientific research and technology transfer. To date, five research projects led by TDTU have been successfully implemented in Gia Lai, focusing on key areas closely linked to the province’s socio-economic development, including eco-community tourism development, high-tech agricultural applications, and the digitalization of investment promotion activities. These projects have contributed to improving human resource quality and advancing scientific research within the province.
Expanding Cooperation for a New Development Phase
For the 2026–2030 period, TDTU and Gia Lai Province agreed to expand their cooperation in education and training, science and technology, particularly programs supporting the implementation of Resolution No. 57 on breakthroughs in science and technology development, innovation, and national digital transformation.
In education, TDTU will continue providing professional development programs for educational administrators and teachers, while expanding innovative educational experience models for high school students.
The University will also continue allocating a diverse range of scholarships to students from Gia Lai Province through its annual scholarship fund.
In science and technology, both parties will work together to address emerging local challenges by leveraging TDTU’s strengths. Priority areas include artificial intelligence (AI), digital transformation, public administration, data management, unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs), geographic information systems (GIS), smart urban planning, and renewable energy.
Programs aimed at mobilizing investment resources, supporting youth entrepreneurship, and promoting sustainable local economic development will also receive priority attention.
The expanded cooperation is expected to help meet the growing demand for high-quality human resources, accelerate the application of science and technology, advance digital transformation, and create new momentum for Gia Lai Province’s development in the coming years.
