Ton Duc Thang University and Gia Lai Province Strengthen Cooperation for the 2026–2030 Period
On June 6, 2026, Ton Duc Thang University (TDTU) and the People’s Committee of Gia Lai Province officially signed a cooperation agreement for the 2026–2030 period, focusing on the development of high-quality human resources and technology transfer aligned with local development needs.
The signing ceremony was co-chaired by Assoc. Prof. Dr. Tran Trong Dao, President of TDTU, and Mr. Lam Hai Giang, Vice Chairman of the Gia Lai Provincial People’s Committee, with the participation of leaders from provincial departments and agencies, as well as representatives of TDTU’s functional units.
Over the years, cooperation between TDTU and Gia Lai Province (including the former provinces of Gia Lai and Binh Dinh) has produced numerous tangible outcomes, contributing directly to local socio-economic development.
Human resource training and professional development programs for public officials have been implemented effectively. Career guidance initiatives have also been strengthened through cooperation agreements with high schools across the province, as well as experiential programs that help students explore academic opportunities and choose study fields aligned with both their capabilities and the province’s workforce demands.
TDTU has awarded 177 scholarships to students from Gia Lai Province, with a total value exceeding VND 3.5 billion. In addition, various community service activities, including the construction of charitable houses, children's playgrounds, and support programs for local residents, have been carried out effectively and meaningfully.
A notable highlight of the partnership has been scientific research and technology transfer. Numerous research projects led by TDTU have been successfully implemented in Gia Lai, focusing on key areas closely linked to the province’s socio-economic development, including eco-tourism and community-based tourism, high-tech agricultural applications, and the digitalization of investment promotion activities. These initiatives have contributed to improving human resource quality and advancing scientific research within the province.
For the 2026–2030 period, TDTU and Gia Lai Province have agreed to expand their cooperation in the fields of education and training, science and technology, particularly programs supporting the implementation of Resolution No. 57 on breakthroughs in science and technology development, innovation, and national digital transformation.
In education, TDTU will continue providing professional development opportunities for educational administrators and teachers while expanding innovative educational experience programs for high school students.
The University will also continue to allocate scholarships for students from Gia Lai Province as part of its annual scholarship budget.
In science and technology, both parties will focus on addressing local development challenges by leveraging TDTU’s strengths. Priority areas include artificial intelligence (AI), digital transformation, public administration, data management, unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs), geographic information systems (GIS), smart urban planning, and renewable energy.
Programs aimed at mobilizing investment resources and supporting youth entrepreneurship, with the goal of promoting sustainable economic development, will also be prioritized under the partnership.
The expanded cooperation is expected to help meet the growing demand for high-quality human resources, accelerate the application of science and technology and digital transformation, and create new momentum for Gia Lai Province’s development in the coming years.
