University Admissions Counseling Day 2025 at Ton Duc Thang University – TDTU OPEN DAY 2025
On April 12, 2025, at the main campus of Ton Duc Thang University (District 7, Ho Chi Minh City), the University Admissions Counseling Day 2025 of Ton Duc Thang University (TDTU OPEN DAY 2025) took place vibrantly, attracting over 3,000 students and parents from Ho Chi Minh City and various provinces in Southern Vietnam.
Attending TDTU OPEN DAY 2025, on behalf of high schools, were principals, vice-principals, and over 100 teachers from high schools in Ho Chi Minh City and southern provinces such as Dong Nai, Long An, An Giang, Soc Trang, Ben Tre, Ca Mau, Dak Nong, etc.
Representing Ton Duc Thang University (TDTU) were Dr. Tran Trong Dao - Chairman of the Science and Training Council, President; Dr. Vo Hoang Duy - Vice President; Dr. Nguyen Ngoc Son - Vice President; Assoc. Prof. Dr. Pham Thi Minh Ly - Vice Chairwoman of the University Council; Ms. Dang Thi Kim Anh - Head of the Department of Student Affairs, Head of the Organizing Committee of the event; along with leaders of various units, lecturers, staff, and over 3,000 parents and students from 23 high schools in Ho Chi Minh City and southern provinces.
In his opening speech at the event, Dr. Tran Trong Dao – President of the University stated: “Dear students, as you stand at the threshold of university gates, each choice you make can be the starting point for great things. Be bold in setting your dreams, persistently pursue what you love, and don’t hesitate to ask questions, explore, and discover to find the path that suits you best. TDTU is always ready to accompany you, not only in your studies but also in your journey to becoming a responsible global citizen who contributes positively to society.”
During the event, the University presented commemorative medals to acknowledge and express appreciation for the dedicated support and collaboration of the Boards of Management of the participating high schools.
n addition to career orientation activities and experiential programs such as the 4-hour/8-hour/24-hour student at TDTU programs designed for high school students, the TDTU Open Day is an annual career counseling event organized by TDTU. It aims to help students explore majors and related careers, enabling them to make choices that align with their abilities and aspirations.
At this year’s event, students had the opportunity to receive direct consultation and have their questions answered in detail by TDTU lecturers regarding 43 popular majors - particularly the 7 new majors/specializations introduced for the 2025 enrollment including Tourism Management, Tour Guiding, Supply Chain Management, International Finance, Auditing and Data Analysis, International Commercial Law, and Semiconductor Integrated Circuit Design Technology. The students were also provided with a wealth of useful information about TDTU, including scholarship programs, student support policies, talent-based exams, admission methods, and more.
Interactive and hands-on activities were also a compelling and highlight feature of the event, allowing students to explore the modern, dynamic, and internationally standardized facilities and learning environment at TDTU. Some notable activities included Mock Trial (Faculty of Law), The Mysterious World of Parasites (Faculty of Pharmacy), Step into the Tech World (Faculty of Electrical and Electronics Engineering), Say Hi to Foreign Languages (Faculty of Foreign Languages), Mathematical Cipher – Thinking Challenge, Journey to Explore the Faculty of Mathematics and Statistics, among others.
During the event, several panel discussions and seminars were also held, such as the Panel Discussion on Career Counseling in the Field of Environmental Safety and Health in 2025, organized by the Faculty of Environment and Labour Safety. The discussion focused on introducing the role of environmental safety and occupational health in socio-economic development and future career orientation. Additionally, there was a seminar titled “Training Talents in Pharmaceutical Formulation and Industrial Pharmacy,” organized by the Faculty of Pharmacy. Notably, a training session on the topic “Application of AI Technology in Teaching” was conducted for high school teachers, etc.
As part of the event, students participated in the “Lucky Program with TDTU OPEN DAY 2025.” Le Thi Khue Quynh, a student from Luong The Vinh High School (District 1, Ho Chi Minh City), was the First Prize winner with the Apple iPad Gen 10, while the Second Prize winner with the AirPods 4 went to Nguyen Ngoc Hien, a student from Ton Duc Thang High School (Dong Nai Province). The program also awarded 5 Third Prizes (TDTU backpacks) and 10 Consolation Prizes (limited-edition TDTU teddy bears) to students participating in the event.
The event was a great success, creating opportunities to further strengthen close and effective connections and cooperation between TDTU and high schools in Ho Chi Minh City and the southern provinces. Through this, TDTU continues to fulfill its mission and social responsibility as a public higher education institution by providing career counseling, academic advising, and admissions guidance for high school students, while also engaging in collaborative activities and support for educational development with various localities and provinces.
