Tuoi Tre Online: International-Standard Sports Facilities Provide a Strong Foundation for Sports Development at Ton Duc Thang University
More than simply serving teaching and learning activities, the comprehensive sports facilities at Ton Duc Thang University (TDTU) have become an integral part of its holistic educational environment. They provide students, faculty members, and staff with opportunities to maintain healthy lifestyles, improve physical well-being, and foster a vibrant campus community.

To support students' comprehensive intellectual and physical development, TDTU has invested in a modern and professional sports infrastructure at its main campus (19 Nguyen Huu Tho Street, Tan Hung Ward, Ho Chi Minh City).
Integrated Infrastructure Promoting an Active Lifestyle
The University's sports facilities have been systematically developed to support both regular physical education and training activities as well as the organization of major sporting events.
Among the highlights is a FIFA 2-Star certified football stadium with a seating capacity of 7,500, equipped with a modern 1,200-lux lighting system that meets the requirements for live television broadcasting.
Adjacent to the stadium is a three-story multi-purpose sports complex featuring retractable seating for 2,700 spectators, accommodating a wide range of indoor sports, including basketball, volleyball, martial arts, table tennis, and more.
The University also boasts a comprehensive sports complex comprising a six-lane swimming pool with a 24-hour Italian circulation filtration system, tennis courts, basketball and volleyball courts, a 3D golf simulation room, and a modern fitness center.

This integrated infrastructure has provided a solid foundation for the University's thriving sports movement. Outside class hours, students can participate in one of TDTU's 20 official sports clubs, covering football, volleyball, basketball, badminton, swimming, athletics, aerobics, and martial arts such as taekwondo, karate-do, vovinam, and traditional Vietnamese martial arts.
As a regular user of the University's sports facilities, Huynh Ho Thien Thanh, a K28 student of the Faculty of Sport Science and a member of the TDTU Swimming Team, shared:
"I am truly impressed by the modern and well-integrated sports facilities at the University. I train at the swimming pool every day, and it is spacious, with six lanes and consistently well maintained. The water is always clean and free from the smell of chemicals, making training very comfortable. High-quality facilities are a great source of motivation that encourages students to actively participate in sports activities."

Thien Thanh also noted that TDTU's club environment is highly supportive, with members constantly encouraging one another during training. "Sports at TDTU have not only helped me improve my physical fitness, discipline, and perseverance but have also taught me how to manage my time effectively, balance my studies, and relieve stress after classes."
From Campus Sports to National Competitions
At TDTU, sports activities extend far beyond extracurricular recreation—they serve as a launching pad for young athletes to excel at major competitions.
The University's traditional TDTU Games, held biennially, attract more than 1,000 student-athletes competing across a diverse range of sports.
In addition, community running campaigns such as UpRace have drawn enthusiastic participation from faculty members and students alike, fostering stronger connections within the campus community.

These grassroots sporting activities have produced remarkable achievements for TDTU students. To date, the University's athletes have earned: 19 Gold, 10 Silver, and 16 Bronze medals at world-level competitions; 8 Gold, 7 Silver, and 12 Bronze medals at regional competitions; 79 Gold, 53 Silver, and 78 Bronze medals at national championships.
Among the University's notable accomplishments are the National Student Seven-a-Side Football Championship (2023) and the National University Basketball Championship (2022 and 2025). At the 33rd SEA Games in 2025, TDTU student-athletes also contributed one gold, one silver, and two bronze medals to Vietnam's taekwondo team.
Discussing the role of sports infrastructure in students' holistic development, Mr. Tran Cao Cam Tien, Lecturer at the Faculty of Sport Science and Head of the TDTU Taekwondo Club, remarked:
"At TDTU, we are committed to a philosophy of holistic education. Learning and training in a high-quality environment not only ensures students' safety but also inspires them to embrace physical activity. This serious investment provides learners with experiences comparable to professional sports environments and serves as a powerful catalyst for the development of campus sports."

According to Mr. Tran Cao Cam Tien, alongside the continuous maintenance and expansion of sports facilities, the University regards collaboration as a key strategy for enhancing students' training quality.
TDTU will continue strengthening partnerships with national sports federations and leading training centers to jointly organize training programs and major sporting events, allowing students to gain first-hand exposure to professional sports.
A prime example is TDTU's continued partnership with the organizing committee of the 2026 Vietnam Workers and Public Employees Football Tournament, serving as the host venue for both the Southern Regional Qualifiers and the National Finals.

"Providing students with direct exposure to high-level sporting events right on campus is an effective way to cultivate sportsmanship, strengthen resilience, and promote healthy lifestyles. This is a strategic step toward realizing the University's philosophy of holistic education," Mr. Cam Tien added.
In 2026, the Vietnam General Confederation of Labour and Tuoi Tre Online, in collaboration with the Vietnam Football Federation (VFF), continue to organize the Vietnam Workers and Public Employees Football Tournament.
Now in its fourth season, the tournament brings together 48 teams from across the country, reaffirming its reputation as a prestigious annual sporting event for workers and public employees nationwide. The tournament contributes to promoting physical fitness while enriching the cultural and spiritual lives of workers and society as a whole.
Notably, this marks the fourth consecutive year that the tournament has received the support of its Diamond Sponsor, THACO Group. Together with partners including Revive Sports Drink, Dong Luc Sports Group, Vietnam Cable Television Corporation (VTVcab), FPT Television Company Limited (FPT Play), and many other businesses, THACO has played a significant role in promoting the tournament's values of solidarity, community engagement, and social responsibility.
Following two exciting regional qualifying rounds in Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City, the 16 best teams advanced to the National Finals of the 2026 Vietnam Workers and Public Employees Football Tournament.
The National Finals are being held from July 16 to 19, 2026, at the stadium of Ton Duc Thang University, Ho Chi Minh City.
The total prize value of the 2026 tournament amounts to VND 900 million, with the national champion receiving VND 200 million.
