Tuoi Tre Newspaper: Ton Duc Thang University Hosts a Forum on Semiconductor Technology
On January 15, Ton Duc Thang University (TDTU) cooperated with Hung Duc Trading & Investment Co., Ltd. and HANEL Industrial Investment Joint Stock Company to organize the Joint Development Forum.

The forum was attended by leaders of the Taipei Economic and Cultural Office in Ho Chi Minh City, experts, enterprises’ leaders from the US, Taiwan (China), Singapore, managers from the Ministry of Planning and Investment, the Vietnam National Innovation Center and research institutes under the Vietnam Academy of Science and Technology.
I his opening speech, Dr. Tran Trong Dao, President of TDTU, stated: “I hope this Forum will become an annual activity to promote cooperation between Vietnam and the international community in the semiconductor industry, as well as contribute to making Vietnam an important link in the global semiconductor supply chain.”

With the theme “Development Trends of High-Tech Industries Worldwide and Their Relevance to Vietnam in 2025”, the forum aimed to update the latest advances in semiconductor technology, shared experiences from international and domestic experts, and promoted cooperation between universities, research institutes, and enterprises in the high-tech industry.
The forum focused on various topics, such as the development of the global semiconductor industry, new trends in chip design and manufacturing, as well as the impact of semiconductors on other areas such as artificial intelligence, the Internet of Things (IoT), and automation.
The speakers were renowned experts in the field of semiconductor technology, from leading companies, universities and major research institutes.
In the coming academic year, Ton Duc Thang University will enroll students in the Semiconductor Design Engineering major.
The study program is developed on the foundation of the Electronics and Telecommunications Engineering industry, which has met AUN-QA accreditation standards since 2019, with many generations of graduates being highly appreciated for the quality of training by large enterprises in the semiconductor industry such as Intel, Marvel, Renesas, etc.
The study program has been continuously updated according to the development of microchip technology in the world, meeting the practical needs of enterprises in the semiconductor industry in the world, contributing to the implementation of the Government’s goals on the Strategy for developing Vietnam’s semiconductor industry to 2030 and vision to 2050.
