On September 23, 2024, Ton Duc Thang University (TDTU) - Khanh Hoa Branch held the Opening Ceremony to commence the Academic Year 2023-2024 and welcome students of Intake 28.

The Opening Ceremony was attended by distinguished guests including Mr. Le Huu Hoang - Permanent Vice Chairman of Khanh Hoa Provincial People’s Committee, Mr. Luu Thanh Nhan - Permanent Vice Chairman of Nha Trang City People’s Committee, Mr. Bui Dang Thanh - Permanent Vice President of Khanh Hoa Labor Federation, Mr. Vo Hoan Hai - Director of Khanh Hoa Department of Education and Training, Mr. Vo Chi Vuong - Director of the Department of Home Affairs of Khanh Hoa Province, Mr. Nguyen Sy Khanh - Director of the Department of Labor, War Invalids, and Social Affairs of Khanh Hoa Province, Mr. Nguyen Van Hien - Deputy Director of Khanh Hoa Provincial Department of Information and Communications, along with leadership representatives from various city and provincial organizations/departments and amicable enterprises.

From TDTU, the attendees included Dr. Tran Trong Dao - Chairman of the Science and Training Council, President; Dr. Dong Si Thien Chau - Vice President, Director of Khanh Hoa Branch. Also present at the ceremony were esteemed leaders of various Faculties/ Departments/Units within TDTU and all staff members, along with representatives of students at this Branch.

At the Ceremony, the delegates and attendees observed a minute of silence to mourn the citizens who died, to honor and remember the officials and soldiers who sacrificed their lives while performing rescue operations and addressing the aftermath of the recent typhoon no. 3.

With the mission to train human resources to meet the socio-economic development needs of the South Central and Central Highlands regions, training and educational activities at the Khanh Hoa Branch are implemented in line with TDTU’s quality policies, ensuring commitments to both students and society. All study programs at the Branch are accredited by international standards such as AUN-QA, FIBAA, and ASIIN. Additionally, the Branch has carried out various training activities associated with enterprises, including on-site learning, field trips, internships, academic competitions, and thematic seminars. The academic performance and extracurricular activities’ results of students of Intakes 26 and 27 for the Academic Year 2023-2024 demonstrated stringent management of educational quality, with 54.2% of students achieving Very good result, and 34.34% demonstrating Good result.

In the Academic Year 2023-2024, the Branch entered agreements with 8 local enterprises in Khanh Hoa province, which facilitated students’ field trips, internship and employment opportunities. The enterprises also sponsored scholarships for students in various forms, with a total value of over 550 million VND.

At the Ceremony, the University also recognized outstanding students for their exceptional achievements in Academics and Conduct in the Academic Year 2023-2024. Awards were also presented to the students of Intake 28 at this Branch who got the highest entrance exam scores and in their majors.

On behalf of the new students of Intake 28, Nguyen Ngoc Yen Nhi, the valedictorian from the Faculty of Law shared: “Choosing Ton Duc Thang University - Khanh Hoa Branch as my place for study and personal development was my greatest decision. From the moment I learned about the University, I was impressed by its achievements and the diversity of student activities. With all sincerity, we hope to receive continuous support, love, and guidance from our esteemed professors and senior students. We pledge to study and train diligently, persistently overcome challenges, and make great efforts in the journey ahead.”

At the Ceremony, Mr. Le Huu Hoang – Permanent Vice Chairman of Khanh Hoa Provincial People’s Committee gave a congratulatory speech to the University on the new Academic Year. He stated: “For this academic year, I hope that Ton Duc Thang University, in general, and Khanh Hoa Branch, in particular, will continue to bring into play their achievements, as well as continuously innovate and improve the quality of training.”

In his directive speech, Dr. Tran Trong Dao - President of TDTU provided suggestions for the Branch to research and implementation in the Academic Year 2024-2025. He emphasized that the Branch should strengthen partnerships with international institutions to organize conferences, academic exchanges and student exchange programs. He also shared with students: “Success does not solely come from talent or intellect but also from perseverance, discipline, and determination. Perseverance and discipline will help you overcome challenges and are the wings that will carry you higher and further in your academic and professional journeys.”

In this Opening Ceremony, Khanh Hoa Branch signed cooperation agreements with several local amicable enterprises, who presented the Branch with scholarships to support and encourage students who face challenges, yet excel in their studies.
