Ton Duc Thang University Hosts Delegation from the Vietnam Industry and Trade Trade Union
On July 17, 2026, Ton Duc Thang University (TDTU) welcomed and held a working session with a delegation from the Vietnam Industry and Trade Trade Union.
The delegation was led by Mr. Le An Hai, Member of the Presidium of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labour (VGCL) and President of the Vietnam Industry and Trade Trade Union. Representing TDTU were Assoc. Prof. Dr. Tran Trong Dao, Secretary of the Party Committee and President of the University, together with leaders of the University's functional departments.
During the meeting, the two sides discussed potential areas of cooperation based on their respective strengths and practical needs. Key topics included human resource development; the application of science and technology, digital transformation, and artificial intelligence in trade union activities; the development and implementation of capacity-building programs for trade union officials; and promoting collaboration between the University and enterprises in the industry and trade sector to meet the growing demand for high-quality human resources.
The meeting was conducted in an open, constructive, and cooperative atmosphere, laying the groundwork for both parties to further discuss and implement specific collaborative initiatives in the near future. These efforts are expected to leverage the strengths of each institution while delivering practical benefits to trade union members, employees, and the broader community.
In recent years, alongside expanding partnerships with numerous enterprises and organizations, TDTU has actively strengthened cooperation with trade union organizations across the country, including the Thanh Hoa Provincial Federation of Labour, the Dong Nai Provincial Federation of Labour, and the Ho Chi Minh City Federation of Labour. As a higher education institution under the Vietnam General Confederation of Labour, TDTU remains committed to supporting trade unions at all levels through education and training, human resource development, research and technology transfer, and digital transformation, thereby contributing to enhancing the effectiveness of trade union activities and improving the quality of life for trade union members and workers.
