Ton Duc Thang University Collaborated with High Schools in Ben Tre Province

On January 13, 2024, the delegation from the Department of Education and Training of Ben Tre province, led by Mr. Bui Minh Nhut - Deputy Director of the Department of Education and Training of Ben Tre province, along with principals and vice principals from high schools across Ben Tre province, visited and had a meeting at Ton Duc Thang University (TDTU).

On the part of TDTU, participating in the reception and the working session were the presence of Dr. Tran Trong Dao - Chairman of the Science and Training Council, President of TDTU; Dr. Vo Hoang Duy - Vice President of TDTU, along with the leaders of several Departments, Faculties, Institutes, and Centers.

In his remarks during the working session, Dr. Tran Trong Dao, the President of TDTU, highly praised the results of the collaboration with the high schools in Ben Tre province in the recent period and expressed hope to further expand cooperation in the future. Dr. Tran Trong Dao shared the aspiration to create opportunities for parents, teachers, and students from high schools to visit, experience, and understand the cultural environment and facilities of TDTU, where they may become future students. Over the past period, the university has connected and collaborated with high schools in various provinces, especially those in the Mekong Delta region, including Ben Tre, to organize visits, experiences, and career orientation activities for high school students at the university. This ongoing initiative has been regularly organized and achieved significant success. The initiative provides valuable support for the university’s admissions efforts and fulfilling its social responsibility.

Dr. Tran Trong Dao also shared that TDTU currently manages and operates the Vietnam-Finland International School, which is under the university’s administration. This is a unique model of an international school under a public university. In addition to its experience in university operation and management, TDTU desires to collaborate with other schools in sharing its experiences in operation and development.

At the working session, Mr. Bui Minh Nhut, Deputy Director of the Department of Education and Training of Ben Tre province, highly praised the university management model and the discipline in students’ activities and studies. He was impressed by the modern facilities, amenities, and the environmentally friendly, internationally standardized campus of the university. He also acknowledged TDTU’s significant achievements in establishing an advanced university brand, gaining support from parents, businesses, and the community.

During the working session, the representative from the Department of Education and Training expressed that the university will continue to collaborate with the province in the field of education, with a special focus on providing scholarships for students in difficult circumstances in certain areas within the province.

The Board of Directors of high schools in Ben Tre province proposed that in the upcoming period, TDTU could consider additional collaborative initiatives such as organizing educational trips and experiences for high school students in the province. They also suggested arranging for lecturers and high-achieving students to visit high schools for the purpose of fostering scientific research and development for students.

In recent years, TDTU has been actively involved in training over 800 students from Ben Tre province, allocating over 1.6 billion VND in scholarships for students from Ben Tre studying at the university. The employment rate of TDTU graduates within one year after graduation stands at an impressive 99.4% (in 2022), a testament to the institution’s commitment to producing highly employable graduates. The university is consistently praised by domestic and international businesses for its devotion, professionalism, and discipline.
