On the morning of April 8, 2023, the Department of Education and Training of Ca Mau Province led by Mr. Le Hoang Du - Deputy Director of the Department visited and worked with Ton Duc Thang University (TDTU). In addition, there were also officials from functional units of the Department and the Board of Principals of 29 high schools in Ca Mau Province.
On the side of TDTU, there was the participation of Dr. Tran Trong Dao - the President, and representatives of leaders from relevant units in welcoming the delegation.
The two sides have summarized the successful cooperation results, especially in the field of education over the past time. As of 2018, there are nearly 700 students from the province studying at TDTU. In particular, the university has granted more than 1 billion VND to support students from Ca Mau Province with various forms of scholarships such as priority scholarships for admission to signed high schools, scholarships for students in difficult circumstances, valedictorian entrance scholarships, scholarships to support during the Covid-19 pandemic, and more than 501 million VND in tuition fee waiver in 2022 for students of the province.
Speaking at the meeting, Mr. Le Hoang Du expressed his impression of TDTU's continuous innovations in facilities, teaching staff, and training programs, and hoped that the educational model and teaching activities according to the method of the Vietnam - Finland International School under TDTU will be replicated to high schools in Ca Mau. In addition, he also wished that TDTU would support the province in developing a framework for professional training in information technology and foreign languages for teachers and students, and directly participate in career counseling programs organized by the province in the near future.
At the meeting, the Boards of Principals of high schools rated TDTU as one of the prestigious addresses in the higher education system. The representative from Ho Thi Ky High School, Mr. Nguyen Van Bang - Vice Principal wished that TDTU would coordinate with high schools in Ca Mau province to organize more counseling sessions, career orientation as well as educate and train students with a sense of discipline right from the high school year.
On this occasion, TDTU together with the Board of Principals of 29 high schools of Ca Mau Province signed a comprehensive cooperation agreement in educational development, fostering and improving professional capacity for teachers in the province, scientific research and technology transfer, career orientation, scholarship and accommodation support and activities for students from the province, contributing to providing the province with high-quality human resources to meet the needs of socio-economic development.
