Opening Ceremony of the Southern Regional Qualifiers for the 2026 Vietnam Employees Football Tournament at Ton Duc Thang University
On June 8, 2026, the Opening Ceremony of the Southern Regional Qualifiers for the 2026 Vietnam Employees Football Tournament took place at the Stadium of Ton Duc Thang University (TDTU).
Attending the opening ceremony, representing the Vietnam General Confederation of Labour, were Mr. Le Van Nghia, Vice Chairman of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labour; Mr. Nguyen Manh Kien, Member of the Standing Committee of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labour and Deputy Head of the Tournament Organizing Committee; and Mr. Le An Hai, Member of the Standing Committee of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labour.
Representing TDTU were Assoc. Prof. Dr. Tran Trong Dao, Member of the Executive Committee of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labour and President of TDTU, and Dr. Nguyen Ngoc Son, Vice President of TDTU.
Representing Tuoi Tre Newspaper was journalist Nguyen Hoang Nguyen, Deputy Editor-in-Chief of Tuoi Tre Newspaper. The ceremony was also attended by representatives of the Vietnam Football Federation (VFF), sponsors, partner organizations, as well as a large number of athletes and spectators.
The Southern Regional Qualifiers for the 2026 Vietnam Employees Football Tournament were held from June 7 to 10, 2026, bringing together 24 teams representing agencies, organizations, and enterprises from provinces and cities across Southern Vietnam. The teams were divided into six groups. The top team from each group, together with the two best-performing runners-up, would advance to the quarter-finals and qualify for the National Finals.
Immediately after the opening ceremony, the teams commenced competition, showcasing a number of thrilling matches in pursuit of qualification for the 2026 National Finals.
2026 marks the third consecutive year that the TDTU Stadium has been selected as a venue for the Vietnam Employees Football Tournament. With its FIFA 2-Star-standard artificial turf pitch, modern facilities, and grandstands accommodating more than 7,000 spectators, the TDTU Stadium has hosted major sporting events for many years.
