Opening Ceremony of the National Finals of the 2026 Vietnam Workers and Public Employees Football Tournament
On July 17, 2026, the opening ceremony of the National Finals of the 2026 Vietnam Workers and Public Employees Football Tournament took place in a vibrant and festive atmosphere at the stadium of Ton Duc Thang University (TDTU).
Attending the ceremony were Mr. Ngo Duy Hieu, Permanent Vice President of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labour and Head of the Tournament Steering Committee; Mr. Tran Anh Tu, Vice President of the Vietnam Football Federation (VFF); Mr. Tang Huu Phong, Deputy Head of the Ho Chi Minh City Party Committee's Commission for Information, Education and Mass Mobilization; Mr. Tran Xuan Toan, Editor-in-Chief of Tuoi Tre Online and Head of the Tournament Organizing Committee; along with leaders of the Ho Chi Minh City Federation of Labour and Tan Hung Ward.
Representing TDTU was Assoc. Prof. Tran Trong Dao, Member of the Executive Committee of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labour and President of Ton Duc Thang University.
The ceremony was also attended by representatives of local labour federations whose teams qualified for the finals, sponsors, supporting partners, as well as a large number of athletes and supporters.
Following two exciting regional qualifying rounds held in Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City, the 16 best teams officially secured their places in the national finals. They are expected to deliver thrilling, competitive, and memorable matches throughout this year's tournament.
The Vietnam Workers and Public Employees Football Tournament is an annual sporting event jointly organized by the Vietnam General Confederation of Labour and Tuoi Tre Online, with professional support from the Vietnam Football Federation. After four successful seasons, the tournament has gradually established itself as a prestigious and meaningful nationwide sporting event for workers, public employees, and labourers across Vietnam.
With its modern and well-equipped facilities, particularly a FIFA 2-Star certified artificial turf stadium with a seating capacity of more than 7,000 spectators, together with its proven expertise in hosting major events, Ton Duc Thang University has continued to be entrusted as the host venue and a long-standing partner of the tournament.
