On October 15, 2022, the delegation of Gia Lai Department of Education and Training and the School Boards of 37 major high schools of the province, led by Dr. Nguyen Van Long, Deputy Director of the Department, had a visit and worked with Ton Duc Thang University (TDTU). Dr. Vo Hoang Duy, Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee, and leaders of functional units and affiliated faculties welcomed and worked with the delegation.
At the meeting, the two sides reviewed the results of their cooperation in education over the past time. The total number of students from Gia Lai province studying at TDTU is currently 730 students, in addition to 321 students who graduated and have been working in units and enterprises of the province.
Implementing the cooperation agreement between Gia Lai and TDTU, since 2018 the University has granted scholarships to 54 students from Gia Lai with more than 1 billion VND. In addition to the agreed scholarship programmes, the University has also granted scholarships to 37 students having excellent academic performance with 433,067,200 VND, 3 disadvantaged students affected by natural disasters with 15 million VND, and many other forms of support including tuition waivers.
Gia Lai has been in comprehensive cooperation with TDTU for many years. The two sides have launched many effective cooperation programmes, in which the International Conference on Investment Promotion in Gia Lai Province was held at TDTU in 2018 with more than 150 domestic enterprises and 60 enterprises from 11 countries, especially those from the Czech Republic, Poland and Slovakia.
At the meeting, the School Boards of 37 major high schools re-signed the cooperation agreement with TDTU representatives in the presence of Dr. Vo Hoang Duy, Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee, and Dr. Nguyen Van Long, Deputy Director of Gia Lai Department of Education and Training.
