Lao Dong Newspaper: Ton Duc Thang University Pioneers in Semiconductor Industry Development
Ton Duc Thang University organizes a joint development forum on strategies for developing the semiconductor industry.
On January 15, 2025, the forum attracted and brought together numerous delegates, guests, and speakers who are leading experts in the semiconductor and microelectronics industries, both domestically and internationally. It also included enterprises’ leaders from the United States, Taiwan, and Singapore, as well as representatives from research institutes and government agencies.
Dr. Tran Trong Dao, President of TDTU, expressed: “I hope this Forum will become an annual activity to promote cooperation between Vietnam and the international community in the semiconductor industry, as well as contribute to making Vietnam an important link in the global semiconductor supply chain.”
Through this event, TDTU aims to facilitate connections among government agencies, universities, research institutes, companies, corporations, and organizations from Vietnam, Taiwan, and the international community in the semiconductor industry. The goal is to enhance the quality of human resources to support the development of the semiconductor industry in Vietnam.
The two main topics were: an overview of the semiconductor and microelectronics industry, data centers, cloud computing, and AI; and Fostering the development of a robust semiconductor ecosystem. Speakers at the forum provided valuable insights, sharing updates on the global semiconductor industry’s advancements, new trends in chip design and manufacturing, as well as the impact of semiconductors on other fields such as artificial intelligence, the Internet of Things (IoT), and automation.
The forum also discussed solutions for training and developing high-quality human resources for the semiconductor industry, particularly in Vietnam. The speakers were renowned experts in the field of semiconductor technology, representing leading companies, prominent universities, and major research institutes.
The experts particularly emphasized the importance of training highly skilled human resources in the semiconductor and microelectronics industries to meet the growing demands of the high-tech sector in Vietnam.
Developing specialized study programs and fostering international collaboration will be crucial for Vietnam to build a high-quality workforce capable of participating in the global semiconductor supply chain. These efforts will also drive the sustainable development of the domestic semiconductor industry while seeking effective collaboration methods to enhance Vietnam’s position in the global technology market.
