On the morning of May 27, 2017, The Union of the Ton Duc Thang University organized the International Children’s Day on 1st June and the Nguyen Duc Canh scholarship ceremony in 2017 for the lecturers’ and officers’ children. Attendees of the ceremony included Dr. Tran Trong Dao, Vice president of TDTU; Nguyen Van Bac (MA), Deputy Secretary of Party Committee; as well as Nguyen Quoc Bao (MA), Vice president of the school’s trade union, various lecturers and almost 200 children.

At the festival, the university’s union awarded 97 Nguyen Duc Canh scholarships with a total value of 26 million VND for those students who displayed excellent academic achievements over the past school year. Furthermore, the Trade Union also organized the “Creative Summer” course for children at TDTU especially for this occasion, which included various activities, including: English, Painting, Sports, Design and Robot programming. With a unique teaching method in English, students had the opportunity to explore the world around them, make new friends, develop their thinking, physics and foreign language skills.

It is an annual activity of the School's Union, the International Children's Day and the Nguyen Duc Canh Scholarship Ceremony presented opportunities for the children who attended to have fun and socialize freely. Events such as these showcase the dedication of the university to future generations of the country. The celebration was also a chance for the university’s lecturers and staff to introduce their children to each other; creating stronger ties to each other for more effective working relationships.
