Following successes after the 2016 season, the TDTU Department of Finance and Banking officially launched the competition “Investing in Securities 2017” with the opening ceremony on March 27th 2017. Attending the ceremony were TDTU Leaders, representatives of patrons who are prestigious financial and economic organizations/enterprises, along with 200 candidates representing more than 1000 participants from 6 universities in HCMC, including TDTU, the Banking University, the Open University, the Food Industry University, the Industrial University of HCMC, and the University of Economics and Finance.

The main theme of the competition was real investment activity in each round. Significantly, candidates were funded by the patrons to invest, buy and sell securities using real money on Ho Chi Minh City Stock Exchange in two months (April and May 2017). They had the full right to make a decision with their profits, while receiving consultation from a panel of judges who are reputable financial experts.

"Investing in Securities 2017" is an academic playground that provides practice, which is extremely beneficial to students. Throughout the contest, they were equipped with the knowledge, skills and experience to be ready to become a financial investor in the future. This is also the place where enterprises find talented people, contributing to the promotion of a sustainable development of the Vietnam Securities Market.
