Deputy Prime Minister Mai Van Chinh Attends the Closing Ceremony of the 3rd Vietnam Youth Student Football Tournament at Ton Duc Thang University
On the afternoon of March 16, 2025, the closing ceremony and the final match of the 3rd Vietnam Youth Student Football Tournament, took place at the stadium of Ton Duc Thang University (TDTU).
Present at the closing ceremony, the final match, and the award presentation were distinguished guests, including Mr. Mai Van Chinh – Member of the Party Central Committee, Deputy Prime Minister; Mr. Bui Quang Huy – Alternate Member of the Party Central Committee, First Secretary of the Central Committee of the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union; Mr. Dang Ngoc Tung – Former Member of the Party Central Committee, former Chairman of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labour, Member of the University Council; Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nguyen Van Phuc – Deputy Minister of Education and Training; Mr. Dang Ha Viet, Director of the Department of Sports and Physical Training, Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism; Mr. Tran Quoc Tuan – Chairman of the Vietnam Football Federation (VFF); Journalist Tran Trong Dung – Vice President of the Vietnam Journalists Association; and Ms. Tran Thi Dieu Thuy – Vice Chairwoman of the Ho Chi Minh City People’s Committee.
From TDTU, the host of the tournament, there were Dr. Vu Anh Duc – Chairman of the University Council and Dr. Tran Trong Dao – President of TDTU.
From the Organizing Committee, Mr. Nguyen Ngoc Toan – Editor-in-Chief of Thanh Nien Newspaper, Head of the Organizing Committee was present. Additionally, there were representatives from various Central and Ho Chi Minh City Departments, as well as sponsoring and supporting units for the tournament.
The Vietnam Youth Student Football Tournament is entrusted by the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union Central Committee to Thanh Nien Newspaper, in cooperation with the Central Committee of Vietnam Student Association and the Vietnam Football Federation (VFF) for its organization. This year, Ton Duc Thang University (TDTU) was the host for the Qualifying Round of Group E in Ho Chi Minh City and the Final Round of the Tournament.
The presence of the Deputy Prime Minister at the event demonstrates the Government’s attention to the development of sports among students.
TDTU, with its experience in organizing large-scale sports events and internationally standard facilities - especially the FIFA-standard football field with a seating capacity of over 7,000 - played an important role in the success of the tournament. The enthusiastic participation of the teams and the spirited, civilized support from the spectators contributed to making this season unforgettable.
TDTU has also been a partner, collaborating with Thanh Nien Newspaper in organizing the past three seasons, helping promote physical education in schools, inspiring and spreading the love of football within the student community, and providing opportunities to discover young talents for training and development into professional athletes in the future. In this season, TDTU was awarded the Inspirational Cheer Award, and Phan Hoai Nam, a player from the host team TDTU, was also named as one of the best players of the tournament.
