Colorcon group building pharmaceutical laboratory at Ton Duc Thang University

On the morning of 24 May 2017, Ton Duc Thang University (TDTU) held a signing ceremony to formalize its cooperation with Colorcon USA and Vietnam Co., Ltd. Prominent officials of both parties were present at the Ceremony, including Professor Le Vinh Danh, TDTU President; the Heads and Deans of the University Departments and Faculties; Mr. Howard Stracey, Director of Design and Safety; Mr. Glenn Roussel, Technical Director of Colorcon USA Group; and the Management board of Colorcon Vietnam Co., Ltd.

According to the Agreement, Colorcon USA Group (the owner of Colorcon Vietnam) would set up a Practice Lab for general pharmaceuticals at TDTU for the purposes of guidance, training, and human resource development for the pharmaceutical industry in Vietnam as well as the South East Asia region.   This includes the development of formulas for enteric tablets, film-coated and sugar coated drugs as well as establishing a quality medicine production process for film-coated drugs, according to international standards. The lab, once established will help TDTU students with access to drug production technology, pills and film-coating technology; strengthening the effective capacity of advanced pharmaceutical technology. The lab would also enable the Faculty lecturers and students to conduct research on pharmaceuticals for international publication. Colorcon Group currently has 11 manufacturing plants worldwide; over 50 representative offices and 20 laboratories spread across the continents. The 20th such lab has just been established in India. The laboratory at TDTU will mark the 21st Laboratory of its kind in the world. Lastly, this is the only laboratory of ColorCon Group in Vietnam.
