On the afternoon of May 30, 2022, Ton Duc Thang University (TDTU) and Technical University of Ostrava (VSB-TUO) signed an agreement to cooperate in training doctoral programs and undergraduate programs in the new period, based on continuing and expanding bilateral training programs between the two universities in the past time.

Present at the agreement signing ceremony were Dr. Tran Trong Dao - Acting President of TDTU, Dr. Phan Dao - Director of European Cooperation Center, Dr. Dinh Hoang Bach - Acting Director of the International Cooperation, Research & Training Institute and leaders of faculties and departments under TDTU. Representatives from Technical University of Ostrava included Prof. VácLav Snásel - President and other professors.

Assessing the results achieved in the past, the two sides agreed to expand cooperation in the coming years. In particular, the two sides agreed and signed a cooperation agreement on sharing teaching and research resources by signing an agreement to exchange lecturers between the two universities to participate in training and research activities.

At the signing ceremony, Prof. VácLav Snásel expressed his joy when he saw the bilateral relationship between the two universities growing stronger and stronger, and expected that learners could integrate into the Czech Republic world-class education in Vietnam to access more job opportunities and personal development in the EU labour market.

The program of bilateral cooperation with European universities to organize doctoral training in part-time form that has been implemented by TDTU since 2013 has had more than 20 majors and more than 130 PhD students.

Technical University of Ostrava was founded in 1849, based in the city of Ostrava, Czech Republic. This is one of the 4 largest public universities in the Czech Republic, which currently has 7 faculties with about 22,000 enrolled students.
