On the afternoon of May 15, 2023, the Vietnamese Student Association of Ton Duc Thang University (TDTU) held the 6th Congress of Delegates. There were 150 delegates officially convened to attend the Congress, representing more than 27,000 students studying and practicing at the University.
Attending the Congress were Ms. Tran Thu Ha - Deputy Secretary of the Ho Chi Minh City Youth Union, President of the Vietnamese Student Association in Ho Chi Minh City; Ms. Nguyen Phan Nhu Nguyet - Member of the Standing Committee, Head of the Organization and Inspection Committee of the Ho Chi Minh City Youth Union; Mr. To Minh Hieu - Deputy Head of Youth Union School Committee, Member of the Secretariat, Chief of Office of the City Student Union. Together with comrades representing sister units, the Student Union of Universities and Colleges in Ho Chi Minh City attended the Congress.
Attendees from TDTU included Mr. Vu Anh Duc - Secretary of the Party Committee, Chairman of the University Council; Mr. Vo Hoang Duy - Party Committee member, Vice President; leaders of units under the University; and leaders of different Party cells under the Party Committee of the University.
With a high number of votes, the Executive Committee of the Vietnamese Student Association of TDTU for the new term consisted of 23 members, and Ms. Truong Thi Cam Tu was elected as the Chairman. The Congress listened carefully to the report on the Association’s work and the Youth Union’s movement for the term 2021 - 2023, discussed and noted practical and creative ideas as well as solutions to contribute to the Association’s work and Youth Union’s movement in the new term.
In his speech, Mr. Vu Anh Duc - Secretary of the Party Committee, Chairman of the University Council praised and highly appreciated the achievements of the University’s Vietnamese Student Association, especially in the Association's work and the Youth Union’s movement. He affirmed that the Party Committee of the University is always ready to create all favorable conditions for the Association, especially in educating, training and fostering the talented and enthusiastic young generation.
Ms. Tran Thu Ha - Deputy Secretary of the Ho Chi Minh City Youth Union, President of the Vietnamese Student Association in Ho Chi Minh City expected that the new Executive Committee of the Association will continue the achievements of the previous generations, concretizing the goals, tasks and solutions set out in the Congress, contributing to building a strong collective, promoting the role of orientation for TDTU students in particular and the City’s youth in general.
On this occasion, the representative of TDTU Student Association signed a cooperation agreement with District 7’s Youth Union, Binh Tan District’s Youth Union and centers of TDTU to carry out volunteer activities in the near future. In addition, the Student Association rewarded collectives and individuals with outstanding achievements in the Association’s work and the student movement during the term 2019-2023.
