On December 3, 2024, Ton Duc Thang University (TDTU) held the opening ceremony of the 419th AUN-QA Programme Assessment for three academic programmes. This event reaffirms TDTU’s commitment to ensuring quality and international integration, marking an important step in the University’s ongoing efforts to improve educational quality. The programmes being evaluated this time include Undergraduate Programme in Social Work, Undergraduate Programme in Statistics, and Master’s Programme in Applied Mathematics.
The opening ceremony was attended by the AUN-QA Assessors, consisting of professors and respected educators in the field of higher education from ASEAN universities, including Far Eastern University (Philippines), King Mongkut’s University of Technology North Bangkok (Thailand), Srinakharinwirot University (Thailand), University of Malaya (Malaysia), and the National University of Laos. From TDTU, Dr. Dong Si Thien Chau – Vice President, along with leaders of Faculties and Departments, and lecturers of evaluated programmes, were present at the event.
The 419th AUN-QA Programme Assessment at Ton Duc Thang University will take place from December 3 to December 5, 2024. The evaluation activities will include interviews with programme managers, staff, lecturers, students, alumni, and employers; checking teaching activities and facilities; and conducting a comprehensive assessment based on the AUN-QA 4.0 standards.
In her speech at the opening ceremony, Dr. Dong Si Thien Chau stated: “We highly appreciate the AUN-QA Programme Assessment 4.0 quality standards. This analytical framework provides us with a solid benchmark for evaluating our programmes, encompassing aspects such as learning outcomes, programme design, the quality of lecturers and students, facilities, quality assurance processes, and industry partnerships.”
At the opening ceremony, the Head of the AUN-QA Assessors, Prof. Suzeini Binti Abd Halim, shared about the upcoming 2024 AUN-QA International Conference, which will be hosted by Ton Duc Thang University: “This conference will continue to be one of the leading forums for quality assurance in Southeast Asia, bringing together renowned international speakers and experts. We look forward to collaborating with TDTU to make this year’s conference a resounding success, and it will also be an opportunity to further strengthen our collective efforts to enhance the quality of higher education across the region.”
As of now, TDTU has had 17 study programmes accredited by AUN-QA, 15 study programmes accredited by FIBAA, and 9 study programmes accredited by ASIIN. Regarding institutional accreditation, TDTU has received the HCÉRES accreditation (for the period 2018 - 2023) and FIBAA accreditation (for the period 2024 - 2030).
The 419th AUN-QA Programme Assessment at Ton Duc Thang University will continue to reaffirm the University’s commitment to maintaining and improving the quality of education.
