Ton Duc Thang University had 9 study programmes accredited by ASIIN

In December 2023, the Agency for Accreditation and Quality Assurance in Higher Education (ASIIN, Germany) recognized and granted Ton Duc Thang University (TDTU) the ASIIN quality seals for 9 study programmes, including:

  • 5 undergraduate programmes, namely: Computer Science, Construction Engineering, Transportation Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Automation and Control Engineering.
  • 4 master programmes, namely: Computer Science, Construction Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Automation and Control Engineering.

During the academic year 2021 – 2022, with respect to ASIIN’s quality accreditation requirements, TDTU has gathered data to carry out a self-assessment upon the quality of several study programmes. The self-assessment report was presented in a scientific manner and supported by substantial evidence, which in turn has demonstrated the University’s dedication to ensure educational quality.

After receiving TDTU’s self-assessment report in May 2024, ASIIN has scheduled an official external accreditation during 22–23 May 2023. This was a crucial step to realistically evaluate the training quality of TDTU. On behalf of ASIIN were the Expert Panel of esteemed German universities, who have put their effort in conducting a comprehensive quality assessment based on well-defined criteria, such as: learning objectives and outcomes, course syllabuses, teaching/learning methodologies, teaching staff, student support system, facilities, finance, internationalization, as well as connections to the corporate and societal world. Throughout the assessment procedure, the Expert Panel interviewed relevant parties, examined documentation, and contrasted them with European standards – in order to draw conclusions and recommendations to further assist TDTU to continue improve their training quality.

ASIIN is a prestigious accreditation agency, membered of the European Association for Quality Assurance, and is specializing in accrediting higher education institutions and undergraduate study programmes from the fields of natural science, engineering, mathematics – statistics, computers & information technology, science and technology.

TDTU’s ongoing efforts to raise the caliber of higher education are demonstrated by the quality assurance outcomes that aligned with ASIIN criteria. Such achievements represent the pride of the University, which also serve as a catalyst for future growth and development. This is a crucial step in accomplishing TDTU’s goal for international integration and becoming an elite research university of the world.
