On the morning of 14th September 2017, Ton Duc Thang University solemnly opened the International Conference on Sport Management (ICSM 2017). The conference took place on 14th and 15th of September 2017 with the participation of many scientists, experts and doctoral students from many different countries and territories such as England, India, Taiwan, Ethiopia, Indonesia, Malaysia, Japan, Thailand, the Philippines, Sri Lanka, China and Vietnam. Especially, the conference was attended by professors and experts in sport management in the world such as: Assoc. Prof. Geoff Dickson from Auckland University of Technology [New Zealand], Assoc. Prof. Nilmanee Sriboon from Thammasart University, Prof. Sombat Kanjanakrit from Chulalongkorn University [Thailand].

With the theme "The role of sport management in the development of the global sports industry," ICSM 2017 is a forum for scientists, researchers, experts, managers, lecturers and trainers to exchange their scientific research and share their experiences in the field of sports management and other related fields such as sports event management, sports facility management, business management, sports marketing and sponsoring, tourism and leisure sports and physical education, sports physiology, nutrition, sports psychology as well as health sciences

All research is reviewed and edited by scientists, international experts in sports management and related fields; printed in the Proceedings of ICSM2017, publication index ISBN 978-604-85-0621-6 published by the Gymnastics and Sports Publishing House.

With the goal of becoming a research university, ICSM 2017 is an essential event that needs organizing by the Faculty of Sport Science to promote the international cooperation in education and science-technology of the whole school following international standards.
