"Student join hands to save electricity" contest

In the context of increasing demand for energy, the economical and efficient use of energy, especially electricity energy, is considered as one of the effective solutions to help ensure national energy security, protect the environment as well as sustainably develop the energy industry.

With the aim of contributing to raising the awareness of saving electricity among students and the community, the Faculty of Electrical and Electronics Engineering of Ton Duc Thang University (TDTU) cooperates with the Ho Chi Minh City Power Corporation (EVNHCMC) to organize the contest “Students join hands to save electricity”. The objectives of the contest are as follows:

  • Searching for new breakthrough solutions for economical and efficient use of energy, especially in electricity saving;
  • Propagating, disseminating and raising awareness of saving electricity among students and the community, promoting the economical and efficient use of energy in schools as well as households.

Important information:

  • Participants: TDTU students.
  • Registration for the contest: April 15, 2022. Online registration at: https://bom.so/dangkyduthiTKD.
  • Entries: infographic, video (with maximum length of 3 minutes).
  • Students can work in groups or individually.
  • Scoring criteria: Electricity saving message; cheerfulness, humor; Creativity and originality; Students are encouraged to use images related to the model.
  • Students submit entries to the contest by April 30, 2022 at: For infographic entries: here. For video entries: here.
  • Jury scores to choose 20 best infographic products and 20 best videos for online voting: May 3 – May 17, 2022
  • Online voting on Ton Duc Thang University fanpage to choose the entries with the highest interaction: May 18 - May 31, 2022
  • The winning entry is the one with the highest score from the Jury and the online vote (60% of the score from the Jury; 40% of the score from the online vote).
  • Announcement of results and awards: June 1 – June 10, 2022.

Prizes: For each entry category (infographic and video), there will be medals, certificates and prizes as follows:

  • 01 First prize: 3,000,000 VND.
  • 01 Second prize: 2,500,000 VND.
  • 02 Third prize: 2,000,000 VND.
  • 03 Consolation prizes: 1,000,000 VND.

Regulations on entries:

  • For infographic entries, students add content based on the available design framework, see details at: here.
  • For video entries: entries must be videos with high resolution and mp4 format, maximum length is 3 minutes. In the top left-hand corner, there must be the logos of TDTU and EVN HCM.
  • Students must guarantee that their entries have never been published in any media.
  • Entries must not be copied or violate fine traditions and customs.
  • The organizers (TDTU and EVN HCM) can use the entries for communication and educational purposes, etc.

Activities to support the contest:

  • Time: Morning: 8:30 - 11:00; Afternoon: 13:30 – 16:00 on 06, 07, 12, 13, 19, 20 April, 2022.
  • Venue: Hall C (behind the office of the Faculty of Electrical and Electronics Engineering).
  • Activities: Learning about solutions for economical and efficient use of energy, especially electricity saving through manuals and guides. Experiencing firsthand the electricity saving model “Controlled air conditioning model”. Presenting and submitting electricity saving ideas in the form of infographics and videos. Mini game program “Have fun with the experience” with many attractive gifts. Singing and dancing performance program.

Note: Students participating in the contest and the mini games will be recognized for extracurricular points according to the current regulations of the University.
