TDTU Researcher Honored with Scientific Laurels Award

Dr. Pham Thi Thu Ha, a researcher at Ton Duc Thang University (TDTU), has been honored with the Women Researcher Award by Scientific Laurels in recognition of her outstanding contributions to agricultural science, genetics, and plant breeding.

Scientific Laurels is an international platform that recognizes and celebrates scientists, researchers, and experts for exceptional achievements in science and technology. Its awards are presented based on research excellence, professional expertise, innovation, and contributions to both the scientific community and society.

Dr. Pham earned her Ph.D. in Genetics and Plant Breeding from Hiroshima University, Japan. She joined TDTU as a researcher in 2018 and served as Deputy Director of the Institute of Genetics and Breeding from 2018 to 2022. Since 2022, she has been conducting research at The University of Queensland, Australia, while continuing to serve as an affiliated researcher at TDTU.

Throughout her research career, Dr. Pham has published 52 international papers indexed in WoS/Scopus, 31 domestic journal articles, 2 international book chapters, and 26 conference papers. She has also participated in 17 national and international research projects. Her research focuses on plant genetics and breeding, disease-resistant crop development, rapid breeding technologies, nanotechnology applications in agriculture, and sustainable crop production.

Prior to this recognition, Dr. Pham received several prestigious awards and honors, including the L'Oréal Award 2019 for her research on developing salt-tolerant rice varieties, the L'Oréal–UNESCO National Fellowship for Women in Science 2019, and inclusion in The Asian Scientist Top 100 (2020), selected by Asian Scientist magazine.

This latest recognition by Scientific Laurels further affirms Dr. Pham Thi Thu Ha's significant contributions to agricultural science and highlights the research excellence, international engagement, and scientific capabilities of Ton Duc Thang University's academic community in advancing science, technology, and sustainable agriculture.
