On 12 March 2020, the Delegation from the University of People's Security led by the Colonel, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Vo Hong Cong, Vice President came to visit and learn more about university management experience from Ton Duc Thang University (TDTU).
The delegation toured some of the facilities at TDTU, such as Inspire Library, Vietnam-Finland International School (VFIS) and the Computing Center, and attended an experience exchange meeting on university governance with a focus on the e-school model.
Dr. Duong Thi Thuy Van, Director of the Center for Applied Information Technology, introduced the management software system being used at the school. The entire software system was built by TDTU's team over the course of many years, along with a high investment in the technology infrastructure. Currently, most university operations are performed on the information technology systems.
Assoc. Prof. Vo Hong Cong hoped that TDTU would help the personnel from the university to have closer access to information technology systems, as well as technical and managerial support, so that the University of People’s Security is able to see to a quick implementation of these techniques.
The University of People’s Security was founded in 1963, formerly known as the Central Security School, Southern Region. Over the course of its 57 years of establishment and development, the University has trained 410 incoming classes with more than 43,000 students, contributing to the supply of key human resources for the Police Department of the Southern provinces and cities.
In the late afternoon, Prof. Le Vinh Danh, TDTU’s President, was also present to welcome the delegation. On behalf of TDTU, the President promised to provide specific support and consultancy activities so that University of People's Security could build its own electronic university, commencing to implement it gradually during this school year.
